Repeat. I guess 'Followup' would be more accurate.
2003-02-26 10:01:42 AM
Ha - too stupid for words...
2003-02-26 10:01:46 AM
By that logic, I could argue a 2 hour time limit on parking is too vague and that ticket I got yesterday would be void.

2003-02-26 10:01:51 AM
Nice try though. What does "is" mean while we're at it?
2003-02-26 10:01:57 AM
Good we prof's are too verbose anyway.

2003-02-26 10:02:24 AM
I think a girl in a hat is so vogue.
2003-02-26 10:03:37 AM
Eh, it was worth a try.
2003-02-26 10:06:08 AM
You mean to tell me that STOP does not mean: "Squeal Tires On Pavement" Damn.
2003-02-26 10:07:29 AM
"When he was unsuccessful in gaining a 10th adjournment last February, Yellon stormed out of court during a break. "-Here's our problem, this guy is really an eleven year old girl.
2003-02-26 10:07:35 AM
i hate canadian justice.
2003-02-26 10:08:06 AM
It all depends on context. For example, in St. Louis, stop signs appear to be merely a suggestion...
2003-02-26 10:08:33 AM
"The trial judge appears to have placed a heavy onus on the defendant ..."

Gotta hate that...wait a sec. Oh, onus. Nevermind.
2003-02-26 10:11:15 AM
I went to the University that this prof is from. I worked at the computer support desk, and when he used to call everyone would try to pass the call on to someone else. He was a total ass. Once he came on to our floor and started harrasing one of my bosses about something and we had to have him "removed". =P
2003-02-26 10:11:37 AM
Reminds me of something...
"I did not have sexual relations..."
2003-02-26 10:14:23 AM
sofa king we tar dead
2003-02-26 10:14:32 AM
There needs to be a "Canada" tag.
2003-02-26 10:14:49 AM
Just pay the damn $59
2003-02-26 10:15:17 AM
Reminds me of that joke, where the guy gets pulled over for running the stop sign. He tells the cop he slowed down, what's the big deal?

So the cop gets out his nightstick and starts hitting the guy with it.

"Now, do you want me to slow down, or do you want me to stop?"
2003-02-26 10:15:24 AM
Bill attacked "is", Bush is currently assaulting "if", and this guy is taking a cheap shot at "stop".

Alert the ACLU! The rights of one-syllable words are being violated!
2003-02-26 10:15:51 AM
How about "DUMBASS?" Or is that too vague?
2003-02-26 10:17:24 AM
All this crap over $59 Canadian money? That's like $40 American. What a major ass. They should hit him with a few thousand dollars in court cost. Then maybe he won't pull this crap again.
2003-02-26 10:17:45 AM
FLA Chickie:

Pay the $59? The average professor in Canada makes over $70k a year (Canadian). You really think he can afford such a heavy $59 ticket?
2003-02-26 10:17:53 AM
YIELD does NOT mean STOP!!!!!!
Yield means slow down, look and if it's clear KEEP GOING!!!
2003-02-26 10:17:54 AM
Hmmm, this does not bode well for my, the meaning of the phrase "Drunk in public and peeing on a squirel" case.

Has anyone seen Mr. Hutz?
2003-02-26 10:18:15 AM
"... I was obviously incapable," he said.

Yeah. Obviously.
2003-02-26 10:19:14 AM
Too much education.
2003-02-26 10:19:32 AM
This guy must be related to Saddam Hussein.
2003-02-26 10:19:41 AM
It all depends on context. For example, in St. Louis, stop signs appear to be merely a suggestion...

In St. Louis, so do lanes.
2003-02-26 10:20:27 AM
Let me guess, "Law" professor?
2003-02-26 10:22:13 AM
The judge who fined me an extra $75.00 for calling the last cop who gave me a speeding ticket an "ass licking Barney Fife wannabe" didn't find that statement to vague
2003-02-26 10:22:24 AM
Did he think his "brilliance" in saying that stop signs are too vauge would actually get him to save the $59???

where I come from stop signs with the white strip outlining them are the ones that mean stop... just plain stop signs with no white outline mean slow down, look for cops and step on it
2003-02-26 10:22:53 AM
Provincial Judge Murray Howell added 'Get the hell out of my courtroom and stop wasting everyone's time before I find you in contempt and toss your sorry ass in the slammer for a few days.'
2003-02-26 10:24:05 AM
Actually, it is physically impossible to stop. All bodies are in constant motion...

/goes to read article...
2003-02-26 10:24:43 AM
G2V: I was wondering why they bothered to paint all those lines...
2003-02-26 10:24:53 AM
I once argued a 90/55 ticket was written incorrectly. Dismissed. Got out of the courtroom quickly before the judge changed his mind.
2003-02-26 10:25:18 AM
I guess this guy has never heard the joke about the cop beating a guy with a club and asking him "now would you like me to stop or slow down?"
2003-02-26 10:28:02 AM
That professor's name? Bill Clinton

Guess we got that interpretation of stop out of the way, now for the biggie: What does stop mean if she's sitting on your lap and giggling?
2003-02-26 10:34:42 AM
What a retard. And he's a university professor?
2003-02-26 10:37:05 AM
Chick3_16 - $70,000.00 Canadian, that's like $3.50 American, right?
2003-02-26 10:38:55 AM

Now if it was this one...
2003-02-26 10:39:30 AM
I suppose he'd have a case in this situation:
[image from hazomet.com too old to be available]
But he's still a tard for pursuing it.
2003-02-26 10:39:41 AM
What a retard. And he's a university professor?

Book learning does not make you "smart". It makes you good at Trivial Pursuit. Most "proffesors" tend to be there because thay can't hack real world stresses. They have little understanding of anything outside of Acedamia.
2003-02-26 10:40:42 AM
Aagghh! Thirty five seconds! Bobneilous, you are a speed demon. You deserve speeding tickets.

Slow children, or should I slow down?
2003-02-26 10:41:53 AM
Imagine if he won, though. It's people like that that really screw things up and add to the bureacracy.
2003-02-26 10:43:25 AM
He's a Political Science Proffesor.

Oop, sorry.. "Assistant Proffesor".

Essentially he grades papers, looks up stuff in books, and fetches coffee.

Not exactly sure when Politics became a science either. How scientific can "talking out of yer ass" be?
2003-02-26 10:43:47 AM
Apparently, this is the same guy who was the reason the "No Means No" campaign was started. "C'mon. Let's do it baby." "NO." "That's too vague. There's no standard of calibration. We're doing it." "No." "Uhh...I don't get it. Still to vague."
2003-02-26 10:44:08 AM
Slow children are easier to run over.
