Wow Robert, sad to see you leave X-E. Was it an amicable split or did something bad arise?
2001-09-11 12:42:30 AM
I read that, missed that part about it being your last article.

Damn,Rob is leaving! My sad world crumbles a bit more...

I've been a "fan" of Robert since he posted as "Liquorhead" on puerile pro-wrestiling opinion sites. He was the only reason I bothered reading X-E anymore.
Matt's "I like Pokemon. Look at all the shiat I bought at the flea market!" schtick got old after the 158th article about how stupid some 80's cartoon was. Robert did all the interesting, funny, subversive, and stupid-in-a-GOOD-way articles.
Kudos to him for jumping off of the "SS This-Site-Was-A-Cool-Idea-At-First" before it sinks to the bottom.

huh? Robert leaves x-e and says goodbye in a mysterious brief paragraph...why?
2001-09-11 02:07:54 AM
Is it me, or has Matt disappeared off the face of his own site? I haven't seen an article from him in nearly a month. Robert is cool (or was cool, I should now be saying), but it'd just be nice to know what's going on.
2001-09-11 02:10:36 AM
You and me both, Pied...you and me both
2001-09-11 02:42:30 AM
Rberry...what? No answers to the above-mentioned questions? Was it a clean, mutual break, you and X-E? And how does your goodbye only span a paragraph of text?

Don't leave your fans hanging....

Best of luck in future adventures brother.

Ive been reading Rberry's stuff religously on X-E,Its too bad he's going cause I can relate to a lot of places he talks about. Most are only a stone's throw from me in Stockton CA.Yeah and whats happened to Matt? or Seanbaby for that matter?

Re: Matt and Seanbaby.... Is UGO not paying webmasters and this is a form of revolt or something? Let the conspiracy begin.

A Walk in The Woods is a great book. The Appalachian Trail is quite beautiful.

I think I'll see if they have this in the library. How old is it?

Hey Robert - it's sad to see you go. Hope this doesn't mean you're leaving Fark too.

On an unrelated note the online version of The Satyr is at an end too. I'm focusing completely on developing Worth1000 now. Should hopefully have the site finished by October.

Yeah, I'll miss Roberts articles there too, but for me, X-E jumped the shark around the time they got the UBB. It just wasn't the same after that...

Cool article, but I have to say I cannot disagree with it more. Since I got out of the army I have had no desire to go camping EVER. I got my fill of living in the woods with, sleeping on the ground, no access to a shower and shiatting in a hole for weeks on end. Give me running water and cold hard pocelain! I grew up in the hills of eastern Kentucky and had plenty of skunks, opossums, and copper heads right in my back yard. You can have em 8-] Nature is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.

No friggen way. I just got done listening to this book on tape. Sorry to hear your leaving X-E, Rberry.
