Yeah, this was pretty dumb. But if it were here in the U.S., we'd commission a study that costs twice as much as the original pricetag to figure why the plan was flawed.

hehe solor powered meters in europe, that is funny. There's more than enough light in countries like Italy, Greece, etc to keep these things going, just not England. The trick to get closer to the equator or the meditertanean when talking about Europe.

As far as the windy kind go, I think those are being phased out because they don't do accounting like the electric ones do hence your metermaid could be pocketing some of those quarters. I'm not sure but I think some give off RF signals saying they're empty and in a downtown area that means there's a car there and they're on their way to give it a ticket.
