7. Mike Modano, 1990s Minnesota North Stars
Remember, there are no rules as to what qualifies as "retro" (call your local sport-talk radio if you wish to debate; we aren't listening). Forget the Wild; real Minnesota hockey fans are sporting this jersey.

You're damned straight we are. Although I'm thinking about a Gaborik jersey now...
2003-02-10 12:42:48 AM
Remember when the White Sox wore shorts? That was awesome...
2003-02-10 01:21:20 AM
Go Oilers!
2003-02-10 01:23:12 AM
Strangely some of the uglies uniforms of all time were not included among the list...
such as... the multi colored houston astros uniforms, the pyjama powder blue of the KC royals... any others?
2003-02-10 01:24:38 AM
i like the old kings hockey uniform.

and i like girls.
2003-02-10 01:25:04 AM
I personally love the old bucs uni. The one where the guy has the dagger in his mouth.
2003-02-10 01:26:11 AM
My favorite:

The 1986 Astros jersey is so bad, it's rad.

I have to say, though, I miss seeing any of the old Patriots uniforms. Anyone remember Scott Zolak?
2003-02-10 01:26:45 AM
oops! I meant.. "ugliest" uniforms of all time.
Those funny looking Pittsburgh Pirates hats from the 70's would go on the list too.
2003-02-10 01:26:59 AM
What about the Padres of the 70's and 80's?
2003-02-10 01:27:09 AM
The Hanson Brothers rule!
2003-02-10 01:27:20 AM
i assume you're joking about the yankees. the uniforms have looked the same for like 100 years...
2003-02-10 01:27:35 AM

Expos were always bad too.
2003-02-10 01:29:07 AM
Does anyone remember the Vancouver Canucks jerseys from the 1980s? Stan Smyl. Harold Snepts. Tiger Williams. Good times.
2003-02-10 01:29:23 AM
...also the black jersey with the big V - Vancouver Canucks!

Yep! Brown Padres uni's with the funny lettering
2003-02-10 01:32:09 AM
Lollgaggers - yeah those, blech.

My 6th grade baseball uniforms were yellow pants with green stripes, green stirrups, green shirt with yellow letters. Oakland A's???
2003-02-10 01:33:32 AM
You are right. That jersey is sooo ugly it deserves to be recognized as one of the best retro jerseys.

Oh yeah, those old brown-and-yellow deals. SO ugly but look good today. Surprised to see not many rappers have started wearing them since they retro jerseys seem to be the thing lately...

Some of my other faves are the old red Cleveland Indians (when even the pants were RED!), Baltimore Orioles orange away jersey, and the Pirate's old mix-and-match uni's back in the mid-70's. They had something like four different sets of tops and pants. Gotta love their hats, too.

Kent Tekulve, where are you?!
2003-02-10 01:33:35 AM
How about those mid 80's white sox. The ones with the SOX written across the chest. Ugh!
2003-02-10 01:35:21 AM
NORDIQUES! Now those were some UGLY sweaters.

You know how long it's been since I heard the names Harold Snepsts or Dave "Tiger" Williams?

2003-02-10 01:39:50 AM
didn't the pirates have really goofy hats back in the 70s?
2003-02-10 01:42:44 AM

Hell, yes.

Black with gold bands... two or three, I think, and a small bill.
2003-02-10 01:43:51 AM
Stubblyhead: Yeah. Rememeber 1979?
2003-02-10 01:46:34 AM
Fun fact: the samoan WWE tag team 3 Minute Warning (Rosie & Jamal)wear old jerseys from the Negro Baseball League as wrestling gear. Not many people notice, obviously.
2003-02-10 01:46:43 AM
Agreed. Those were some of the ugliest jerseys ever. Back in the Ron Kittle/Harold Baines days.

Nice to see that hockey's getting its due here...

what about the Atlanta Flames? Clevland Barons (Or was it KC?) Oakland/California Seals/Golden Seals (franchise with the most name changes ever?) The red-and-green Xmas Devils? The old Caps jerseys? The Buffalo jumping over the crossed Sabres? Winterpeg Jets?

Or go really retro, back into the WHA days...could go on like this forever!

(goes to check out Everett Field or whatever it's called now..)
2003-02-10 01:51:14 AM

All the Negro League jerseys were awesome, as were the old Latin American/Dominican league jerseys.
2003-02-10 01:53:26 AM
The original Bay Area hockey team...joined in the 67 expansion and lasted 4 years I think...changed their name 3 or 4 times...

D'oh! You're right, I did.

Refresh my memory if you can...did Daneyko play for the Rockies, or did he join when they moved to NJ?

Safeinsane--we were talking about wallace stevens, who is from hartford, in my literature class a couple weeks ago. prof asks what hartford is known for, and i jokingly said whaling. no one got it. how quickly they forget. of course, this is florida...
2003-02-10 01:59:37 AM
Crap. Go to the drop bar and select from there though, easy to find.

There was an actual team logo design though, still in green and gold, which was a very stylized way of writing Seals...
