time to cancel the waiver claim

2009-04-09 11:52:02 AM
Sadly hit and run doesn't mean baseball in this case. Hope he's up there smokin' a cigar with Babe Ruth right now.

2009-04-09 11:52:35 AM
Started to make a lame "Angels in the Outfield" joke but...

Damn, that's sad.

2009-04-09 11:52:47 AM

2009-04-09 11:53:28 AM
Very sad. At least he didn't die because of his own stupidity.

2009-04-09 11:54:06 AM
Horrible news. This A's fan will be pouring out a 40 in honor of Nick and the Angels.

I really hate the moments that force you to realize that baseball isn't the most important thing in the world, and this is one of them.

RIP.

germ78: Very sad. At least he didn't die because of his own stupidity.

That doesn't really help HIM much, now does it?

2009-04-09 11:55:44 AM
fark, thats sad. Hopefully he wasn't drinking and driving.

I was also hoping he'd have a breakout year like Saunders last year and Weaver the year before.

2009-04-09 11:56:23 AM
So he's pitching with the angels now?

2009-04-09 11:56:48 AM
That sucks.

geometer: So he's pitching with the angels now?

I hate myself so much for laughing at that...

2009-04-09 12:01:26 PM
This is sad.. Unfortunely, God has other plans for him. May you rest in piece. Enjoy your time with the big bambino...

With that said....(and i hope my beloved Angels rally around this)

GO ANGELS

2009-04-09 12:02:40 PM
Wicked bummer.

RIP throwing man

2009-04-09 12:02:51 PM
Incredibly sad.

2009-04-09 12:03:14 PM
Combine this with the fan who was killed at the stadium earlier this week, the Halos are off to a rough start.
Saddest thing since Donnie Moore?

2009-04-09 12:03:53 PM
you stay classy, subby.

2009-04-09 12:05:12 PM
Bummer.

/NEVER DRINK & DRIVE

2009-04-09 12:05:21 PM
I hope he has HUGE liability limits on his insurance.. or .. I hope he doesn't own a house.

2009-04-09 12:05:25 PM
This is horrible. Damn.

2009-04-09 12:05:53 PM

SlothB77: you stay classy, subby.

Zuh?

2009-04-09 12:07:04 PM
wow that is tragic and sad

I'm rooting for the Angels for the rest of the year

2009-04-09 12:08:06 PM
This is terribly sad, and senseless. I have observed people become worse and worse about running red lights and forcing their way through yellows over the course of my lifetime, no matter where I have lived. I lost an ex-girlfriend to this, though she was a passenger in the vehicle that ran the light. Something I would urge everyone to consider when they believe themselves to be in a hurry.

Kid looked good, too.

2009-04-09 12:08:31 PM
When did Ted Kennedy get a minivan?

2009-04-09 12:09:55 PM

Riotboy: Bummer.

/NEVER DRINK & DRIVE

He wasn't.

2009-04-09 12:10:53 PM
Terrible.

2009-04-09 12:11:02 PM
Wow. Fuentes has to feel terrible about blowing this kid's shot at a W in his start.

2009-04-09 12:11:14 PM
I was going to sub this with the headline "Rookie not so thrilled to be joining the Angels". That seemed like a Fark-wrthy headline. But still, that sucks. Poor kid.

2009-04-09 12:11:23 PM
How about a pre-game ceremony/public execution of the driver that caused the wreck and fled?

2009-04-09 12:12:08 PM
This is tragic. I actually watched him pitch last night.

/This is why small cars are bad
//Save gas, lose lives.

2009-04-09 12:12:11 PM
1 hit, 1 run, 1 out. Angels down by 1.

2009-04-09 12:13:37 PM
Man, that's a lot of deaths from one run red light. I hope they catch the asshole driver.

/RIP

2009-04-09 12:14:02 PM
Since December, I have witnessed 2 hit and runs. One of which I was able to follow the guy and corner him in someone's yard. I am sick and tired of hearing about these jackasses on the road.

2009-04-09 12:14:06 PM
Sooooo..... 15 day or 60 day DL?
I had him on my fantasy team.

Just kidding, I don't play fantasy baseball.

/sorry, I'm in a tasteless mood right now.

2009-04-09 12:14:18 PM

MugzyBrown: I hope he has HUGE liability limits on his insurance.. or .. I hope he doesn't own a house.

Did you even RFTA? He was a passenger in a car that was struck by another driver, who then fled the scene.

2009-04-09 12:14:20 PM
Another Angels pitcher hit hard.

2009-04-09 12:14:28 PM
Three people were killed but lets focus all the attention on the professional athlete that 95% of people have never heard of.

2009-04-09 12:14:55 PM

2009-04-09 12:15:07 PM

mloree: germ78: Very sad. At least he didn't die because of his own stupidity.

That doesn't really help HIM much, now does it?

Well, by that I mean he wasn't getting drunk and stoned then crashing into the back of a tow truck while texting on his phone now.

/at least Tony LaUseless doesn't have to cover this one up

2009-04-09 12:15:23 PM

nmiguy: I was going to sub this with the headline "Rookie not so thrilled to be joining the Angels". That seemed like a Fark-wrthy headline. But still, that sucks. Poor kid.

LOL that's way better than this headline. My reaction to "the ultimate loss" and this being fark was that he'd lost his penis. I guess he still did, in a way.

2009-04-09 12:15:55 PM

TomTucker: How about a pre-game ceremony/public execution of the driver that caused the wreck and fled?

I would watch that but what about a public stoning instead and let the families of the victims take it out on the scumbag

2009-04-09 12:17:06 PM
Well doesn't that just beat all...
