Yes, you're reaching.

If I say, "Here is my budget" to my manager, and they open it up and it's full of vague promises like this, I would have it thrown back in my face and told not to waste her farking time.

Oh I see. You just say it exists!

Stupid Democrats coming up with all these health care plans that cost money. They should just say it already exists instead and then it's all free!

Love the thread.

But, excuse me, when the *FARK* did they get GOP.gov as a website? Seriously?

I wasn't terribly keen on change.gov. But, I accept that there is a proper governmental transition system in place, and Obama was elected.

The GOP is not elected to *ANYTHING*. At all. Even when they were in the majority Parties are not part of the constitution.

Who decides? Can the Communist Party USA get a site? Libertarians?

Bad, bad precedent.

So that's how Boehner could say that Obama not seeing their "budget" two days ago wasn't true! He clearly sent the copy in his hand back in time to show Obama!

It's stupid ot use the TLD. However, the Democrats have democrats.senate.gov for Democrats in the Senate. The GOP thing is far more party branding than "Republicans in Congress," which is what the site purports to be, though.

We want to save consumers money, create jobs and grow the economy, and decrease our reliance on regimes that are not our friends, and the Democrats are telling us no."]

"this should keep the neocon douchebags from pulling that "unicorns and rainbows" crap out of their asses again. Right?"

You know what's funny? The Republican party had 8 years to:
Create an energy policy aimed at more energy - they didn't.
Decrease fuel bills - they didn't.
Create more jobs - they didn't.
Increase energy independence - they didn't.
Save consumers money - they didn't.
Grow the economy - they broke it.
Decrease reliance on unfriendly regimes - they didn't.

They had 8 long years to do those tasks and they didn't. In fact, for a few of those tasks, they actually made the situation worse. Now we're just supposed to believe that overnight they've had an epiphany?

Dr Dreidel: satanorsanta

Don't those circles (the color/font combo) look strikingly similar to Obama's ridiculous "Office of the President-Elect" seals?

// hotlinked from Fox News.com
// because they were asking for it

Oh, so for giggles I went and looked into that some more, because I was wondering about their logo, too. And I found this bit of butt-hurt (new window) about how the President-Elect seal was ebil bad because it was so similar to the seal of the President of the United States.

But, now the GOP is using that same logo on their material, in spite of the fact that the document they attached it to is not from the President and the President is not from their party.

Not a big deal, IMO, but it's fun to watch the butt-hurt ones prove to be hypocrites.

I seriously don't understand how people take the GOP seriously. It's not just that their ideas are dumb, but when in power they don't do anything! What did Bush actually do in 8 years, 6 of which had a GOP congress? Lower taxes and go to war. Period. Obama has literally done more than this in a month. Why does anyone think it would be different if the GOP got back in office?

2009-03-26 5:44:47 PM
And why does this "Budget" say "REPUBLICAN'S PLAN" in it everywhere?

I guess they NEVER intend to try to get any Democrats to vote for it in congress.

Why don't they come up with a REAL plan to try to get votes with?

Seriously. Do you want to trust the guys who claimed that their $1.4 trillion tax cut wouldn't really go to the richest among us, it was for everyone!! It'll create a brazilliondy jobs!!!

...and then proceeded to crash our economy. Or tank it. Or crash the tanker of our economy into the reefs of reality, spewing billions of our crude oil dollars into the seas, never to be recovered.

"Two nights ago, the president said we haven't seen a budget yet of the Republicans," said House Minority Leader Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio). "Well, it's not true, because here it is Mr. President." He waved a thin document called "The Republican Road to Recovery" that describes the GOP proposal. (new window)

Yeah, he goes on to say it's a "blueprint," but Obama's still right: we haven't seen their budget.

T. Dawg: I like how on page 9 the "& lowers taxes" is in a pretty font - and LOWER than the rest of the copy! That must make it true!

I like all of the title pages. There's like 5 of them in this 19 page report. I'm also partial to all of the intermittent fancy text, large font sizing and generous spacing. The random graphics also make a nice filler. Half a page of circles tricks me into thinking it's a whole page of content! If you condensed this document into standard format, I'm thinking the whole thing is actually about 8 pages. ...And most of it is whining and posturing.

In short, this is what Sarah Palin would look like if she were a PDF document.

I wonder if there are any other live urls?
