what in the bloody blue hell happened to that article?

2009-03-12 11:29:31 AM
Halfway through reading the headline, my first thought was that the Obama = Messiah schtick is so tired out, but the punchline made it worth it.

Hehe, good headline.

NOW LEAVE OBAMA ALONE!!!!

Yeah, this instance has some redeeming quality.

I can't blame Obama for the sins of others, but he and his staff have really done a lousy job vetting some folks.

He could turn water into wine. And if he wanted to, he could turn wheat into marijuana. Or sugar into cocaine. Or vitamin pills into amphetamines. That's so cool! Jesus was way cool.

Sounds like a bomb threat. They cleared 2 floors.

this is going to be one of those threads where people DRTFA before commenting, so i'll put this in here...

according to what is known so far, they raided the office the DC CTO office. the outgoing DC CTO is vivek kundra, now obama's CIO.

they arrested yusuf acar, supposedly for some involvement in some bribery or something.

important to note: yusuf acar is not a member of the obama administration, and merely worked for said member of the administration. we may later find out that kundra was involved in whatever acar was doing, but we certainly don't know that yet.

The Washington Post reported that the FBI arrested Yusuf Acar, 40, an information systems security official in the office.

The outgoing Chief Technology Officer, Vivek Kundra, was appointed last week Chief Information Officer by the Obama administration. His last day at the city government office was February 4, a spokeswoman for D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty, Leslie Kershaw, said. He was appointed to the Washington post in 2007.

Kundra left the office on Feb. 4.

He was appointed by Obama on March 6.

The raid was on March 12.

So, let's see.

The FBI arrested some other guy who used to work for Kundra at his previous job.

Not saying that this exonerates Kundra, but it's a far cry from Kundra himself being involved in anything.

If crimes were committed, they occurred on Kundra's watch.

Come on, it's still a funny headline. And an Obama appointee's office was raided, so it's not exactly inaccurate.

It's not really lawyering the humor. Lots of the liberals on this thread, myself included, think it's a funny joke. It's just that in this case, it's not really accurate. Not a cabinet position, actual details about what's going on aren't known... eh.

In comparison to other Presidents? I think he's doing better than others. He hasn't appointed a lobbyist that worked against global climate change to head up the committee to investigate global climate change, for example.

I like the headline. I RTFA, however, and I'm betting if this goes green, most people won't, so we'll have the ZOMG! SUBBY IS AN BUSHLOVAR!1 vrs: ZOMG!!1 NOBAmA is a KenyaAN Soicalist!!

I think it is plainly obvious that the libs are stifling freedom of speech and humor itself because it conflicts with their choice of leader.

Dude. We are laughing at the headline. What the headline actually implies in regards to T particular FA, however, is inaccurate. We're admitting that Obama's past picks have included some big fark-ups, but that doesn't seem to apply in this specific case.

From a quick review of the article and what I know of DC politics from being a local, it doesn't look like any of this actually effects the guy Obama acutally appointed. It appears his underlings might have been corrupt; but there's no mention of any pending charges or investigation against him.

And Since standard vetting for a White House IT position includes and FBI background check, you'd better damn believe that if the FBI were planning a raid that implicated him, they'd have alerted the White House, or heads would already be rolling.

Of course, what people are overlooking is the the person who held that office was actually a Bush appointee (unless Obama was President in 2007, which, as I recall, he wasn't).

If Guantanamo taught us anything it is that the people at the top are responsible for everything any underlings might do no matter how far down the ladder they may be.
