If her immune system rejects the transplants she could lose a portion of what she had before the procedure-which isn't much. She's managing to live without them now, why not wait until we're medically advanced enough to do the operation without so much risk?

I don't see a problem with performing a relatively untested procedure if she's cool with it - after all, how else are surgeries like this gonna be tested? Medical advances generally come in small steps. I do hear the anti-rejection drugs can really suck, though...
