(I-Mockery)   What appears to be an innocent commercial about M&M's is really something much more sinister   ( divider line

first first first?

thank goodness, my life is now complete. Now to become president.

M&M's are really tools of President Bush. They are all actually W's.

See, everyone loves M&M's, so if they were all W&W's, we would all love Dubya and then his rating will go up. Once he reaches 100% approval, he will release his Clone Army upon Iraq and then declare himself Emperor...

Oh, wrong group...

Reminds me of the blonde who was fired from her Quality Assurance job at the M&M's factory. She kept throwing out the ones with "W" on them.

/thanks to Ext1jdh for reminding me.

I'm confused.

was that I-mockery or X-E?
hmm.. well it wasn't very funny.. so it must have been I-mock!

Interesting article, I hope I get to read it sometime.

I got about 40 lines of the page loaded before it just died.

But what was really neat was the source code of the page, I have been wondering how to write javascript into a window.

Thanks for the tutorial.

Uhm I get an empty page with a tiled background image of the slutty green M&M. No text. Nothing.

5,000 clicks and 8 or 9 comments.. if it ever loaded, I guess I could criticize it better, but I'm willing to bet if it was i-mockery, it was kinda lame anyways

That was kinda lame, but the real point is that the commercial was not a metaphor for drug use, it was actually a metaphor for sex. Getting to "first base", "second base", "home run", etc.

And which M&M gets you a "home run"?... the green one. Which M&M is also the one that is widely considered the biggest aphrodesiac? Yup... green ones.

This was a clever ad in its day for talking about sex - but making it look as benign as little league baseball.

its no suprise that the sexy female M&M is green for that reason.

Anyone else have "M&M Wars"? Take 2 M&Ms and squeeze them together to see which one cracks first, then eat the loser.
2003-01-16 11:10:19 AM
Ant: I love doing that. I think it's best with the peanut butter M&M's.

In other news, the page interesting enough for the really long load time for me.
2003-01-16 11:11:16 AM
That should read: " isn't interesting enough..."

Holy CRAP! I thought I was the only one who did this!
Hey, you didn't by chance read my guest article on Bad, did you? The one about the Sixlets?

I'd like to now end my long-time silence on YAM&MI (Yet Another M&M Inconsistency) -- the boy shows a handful of M&M's clearly containing 3 of the lusted after green M&Ms, yet tells his friend he has only one left.

Thus started the greedy phase of the 80s.

PS ArugulaZ: The blue ones always lose. Proof

Yikes! What's sinister is that snail-powered server the page is on. Sorry, Mock, couldn't get it all to load.
2003-01-16 03:53:50 PM
I'm not sure if I consider that proof...but I do consider it pretty damn funny!
2003-01-16 03:59:08 PM
Tell me about it Rob, I have been... FARKED! The M&M's are behind this I tell ya.
2003-01-16 04:39:25 PM
HA! My tiny cable modem-powered server is immune to the wiles of evil M&Ms! Down with paid hosting! Up with free! >:D

They will be gassed and taken to the island of misfits...

Romulusnr: Great article! I wish I could send you mine, but I can't find it on the Bad Candy site anymore. Bleh, maybe I'll just post it on my own web page one of these days.
(By the way, that's at, kids!)

I used to have this ad on soon as I saw the headline, I knew EXACTLY what ad was gonna be must see it for real...

And the voice at the end:

And the voice at the end:

Haha yeah no kidding. Any time a commercial has a kid trying to impersonate a 1950's radio announcer, it's guaranteed to be good.

23000+ clicks... goddamn, you Farkers love your M&M's.

This got the Amusing tag? It should have gotten the Bored Shiatless tag.
