Because they gave all of us the shocker over the last 8 years?

2008-11-13 5:12:45 PM
Wow, that is priceless.

I wonder if he knew what it meant, or if they told him it was something else...

2008-11-13 5:18:20 PM
Oh come on now.

2008-11-13 5:18:38 PM
hmm, that's not what I expected

2008-11-13 5:20:27 PM
What the fark? Seriously, what the fark?

2008-11-13 5:20:34 PM
shooped, but appropriate.

2008-11-13 5:20:37 PM
Is this some secret Republican gang symbol?

2008-11-13 5:22:14 PM
After looking at the whole series of pics, that Bush guy really seems like someone to get a beer with. I'd vote for him now. Can we elect that guy?

2008-11-13 5:22:59 PM

jerry2a: Is this some secret Republican gang symbol?

Yeah, they're making W signs, and coz they think it'll make 'em look cool. Unfortunately it looks like something else.

2008-11-13 5:24:05 PM
Not shopped, but he's posing with the ASU track team, not White House staff.

2008-11-13 5:26:47 PM
Well, it does improve my opinion of him.

2008-11-13 5:28:43 PM
LOL! I wonder who came up with that idea and what they told him it meant?

2008-11-13 5:32:50 PM

Lorelle: Not shopped, but he's posing with the ASU track team, not White House staff.

Great! Someone HAD to come in and give a reasonable explanation for it. Jerk!

2008-11-13 5:33:18 PM
Seeing as they're from ASU, it is much more likely the "pitchfork". This (new window) is the best picture I found.

Slaxl: Yeah, they're making W signs, and coz they think it'll make 'em look cool. Unfortunately it looks like something else.

Yeah, the official White House website is in the habit of posting photoshopped pics of the President. Right. (Here's the page it came from.)

Lorelle: Not shopped, but he's posing with the ASU track team, not White House staff.

Track team? Look at the size of that woman on Shrubbie's right.

If that's a track team, she IS the track.

2008-11-13 5:47:26 PM
And the guy on the far right really looks like someone who runs track.

I think this must be the ASU donut eating squad.

2008-11-13 5:48:25 PM

Cyberluddite: Yeah, the official White House website is in the habit of posting photoshopped pics of the President. Right.

I looked at it again, I just didn't think they could be that stupid.

I forgot who we were talking about. My error.

2008-11-13 5:54:01 PM
Why not? He's been giving The Show Stopper to the entire country for the past eight years.

Holy crap, that isn't shopped. That's hilarious.

How could we improve on the original, though?

Turn them all into the Spocker?

It would be difficult - plus its so small.

2008-11-13 8:08:18 PM
I kind of remember one of the Bush girls doing this early in Bush's presidency. It turned out to be a symbol for a Texas football team (high school or college) which is similar to what this is (new window)

2008-11-13 8:17:21 PM
Laugh...

Well, of course; two in the pink, one in the stink. That's how every real lady likes it.

I'm shocked, shocked, I tell you....

When W get's pardoned it's going to be insane around here.

2008-11-13 9:55:06 PM
Shocking?

Hardly, I expected nothing less than a "lick the V" gesture at a Proposition 8 is defeated/I hate my daughter rally.

festus: Lorelle: Not shopped, but he's posing with the ASU track team, not White House staff.

Track != just running. There's shotput, javlin etc, ergo some large-size people on track teams.

jamesmusik: Seeing as they're from ASU, it is much more likely the "pitchfork".

Darn you and your fancy-schmancy "logical explanation!" It... actually, barely makes it any less funny. It's still a great picture.

2008-11-13 10:31:26 PM
It's called Sparky's pitchfork. It's supposed to represent this(p) guy.

I troll the Whitehouse website daily and yes, it's an actual photo:

I will give Bush credit. He certainly has made for some good photographs.

Remind me who's going to pardon Bush again? Is Ford going to claim dibs?

Stay classy, executive branch.

You have to have been charged with something and found guilty in order to need pardoning. I'm sure on the Iraq issue alone, he could be found guilty of SOMETHING. But he hasn't been charged. He doesn't need to be pardoned.

2008-11-14 12:37:39 AM
I think he knows exactly what it stands for, he's going to use it in his farewell poster. Farewell poster, you ask? Am I the only one who remembers him buying 100,000 acres in northern Paraguay? That's the place bad rulers go when their country changes hands and comes after them. He knows once a constitutionalist gets into office, he's screwed.

I don't think you do. Departing pres has been known to give preemptive pardons, I am fairly sure.
