In before Gary has a chance to show up and tell us why this is a Very Bad Thing...for Obama.

I like how everyone is talking about what an asshole this guy is, but none of us have ever met him, and I haven't even heard any specific stories of him being a massive asshole. Can someone clue me in?

Pelosi, for better or worse, is Speaker of the House. Third in line to the Presidency and her political loyalties are with Congress, not the Executive. If Emmanuel's goal is to silence her or thwart her, how have we improved over the Bush adminstration?

"Guide my pimp hand and make it strong, G*d, so that she might learn a Senators' place. Amen."

Again, Boxer isn't really wacky at all. Durbin, Schumer, and Clinton may need a pimp-stroke (Sanders is left but restrained), but the Dem. Senators are mostly far more moderate than the GOP Senators were. In the House, though, there's plenty of wacky to go around

Yeah, hopefully congress will correct that on their own.

From Wiki...

Emanuel is said to have "mailed a rotting fish to a former coworker after the two parted ways."[7] On the night after the 1996 election, "Emanuel was so angry at the president's enemies that he stood up at a celebratory dinner with colleagues from the campaign, grabbed a steak knife and began rattling off a list of betrayers, shouting 'Dead! ... Dead! ... Dead!' and plunging the knife into the table after every name."[6] His "take-no-prisoners attitude" earned him the nickname "Rahm-bo".[7]

Yeah, if that's true then I can see why people would think he's an asshole. Then again, if he gets shait done who cares? They're not appointing him to be the receptionist.

As in, see Palin (stupid and confident). I totally screwed it up, I admit.

Tell Pelosi, Reid, and LIEberman to STFU and remove them from their offices.

2008-11-07 5:23:17 PM

Corvus: That is going to be the hard thing to do. Defeating Republicans was easy, getting Democrats to agree, now that will be hard!

Not when they owe him so much. He's got capital, or something.

The "dead...dead...dead" thing was him referencing a movie - shiat, I can't remember which one it is right now. But suffice it to say, he was merely doing an impression from a movie.

Yeah, that fish think is kind of jerky.

2008-11-07 5:23:53 PM
I think that's why Obama picked him. To get the Democrats in line and keep them from acting selfishly.

Wow, kinda sounds like you're talking about Karl Rove. Both hyper partisan cut throats, except Obama chose his partisan cut throat as his chief of staff.

But that's TOTALLY different right?

Cuz Obama has that " D " by his name....

yeah, ok...

BTW....how exactly does picking a DC insider, Liberal Democrat cut throat partisan comport with the " I'm going to change Washington " bullshiat we heard for more than a year?

Or did you know he was bullshiatting the entire time?

Yeah, ok....

That is because we haven't had a candidate with this level of support for his policies. He has a much more clear mandate than anyone since Johnson. Carter was simply not a Republican. Clinton won a three way and then shifted hard right to get a second nod.

This will be different, IMO.

Not exactly Obama's 'hood, but so be it. Looks like America. We have a President-elect who is not a fourth-generation billionaire (like the current one).

Actually, the wackier members of Congress all have either (r)s or (Connecticut for Lieberman) after their names.

Because someone with experience and the ability to twist the right arms gets things done more efficiently than a complete outsider.

Are you really this dense?

He wanted change from Bush - is that difficult to understand? I find that VERY simple to understand.

We should note if it was up to Him the 1996 victories wouldn't have happened. Him and his fellow Clintonites (along with the Right Wing and Mainstream Media) laughed at Howard Dean's 50 state strategy.

i am sooooo glad that Obama has won the election and the opposition is tearing itself apart trying to figure out where they went wrong.

those who are still all whining about Libs and dems and making racial remarks about the next President are such a small tiny meaningless few that their comments are worthless and kind of funny.
