Aww, is Hollywood picking on you, subby?

Poor baby.

2008-10-14 2:25:33 PM
Not too bright subby? The movie is from 1987, and it's not "pro-McCain". The article is talking about an interview with McCain, talking about the prison that the movie is about.

2008-10-14 2:26:32 PM
So Bush is running against McCain now?

2008-10-14 2:30:45 PM
It doesn't matter when these movies are released as I'm not interested in seeing either.

2008-10-14 2:33:28 PM
Whoa whoa whoa republicans. What do you care? You've made it very, very clear, every time he is brought up, that W. isn't running this year. So what's all the fuss about?

2008-10-14 2:33:28 PM
Like the Boy Scouts, Warner Brothers is a private institution, and doesn't have to be fair. (Assuming of course that they don't take public resources)

2008-10-14 2:34:58 PM
And this is shocking news why? Next thing you will know, the lsm will be reporting that the sun sets in the west.

Since when did anyone in Hollywood pretend to be unbiased?

I'm sure it has absolutely nothing to do with turning a profit?

"in the tank" for Obama:
The voters
The press
Hollywood
Bollywood
Rich people
Poor people
The middle class
Parents
Homeowners
retirees
workers
reality
self-employed people
unemployed people
business owners

"In the tank" for McCain:

GWShenlong05: So Bush is running against McCain now?

No, but McCain is running from Bush.
Or trying to look like he is.

2008-10-14 2:46:45 PM
After the smash hit "A Conservative Carol" (or whatever the hell it was) it's strange that movie producers aren't greenlighting any more movies that only 23% of the country would even consider going to.

I Said: Whoa whoa whoa republicans. What do you care? You've made it very, very clear, every time he is brought up, that W. isn't running this year. So what's all the fuss about?

He's not?!?? Why do Obama's ads all tell us to say no to another four years of Bush?

2008-10-14 3:02:04 PM
Hmmmm. I wonder how many social conservatives I could trick into renting "The Story Of O" if I told them it was an Obama hit piece.

After reading the Rolling Stone article about him, I can't wait to see the McCain movie.

If paranoid stoned-out tripe by Oliver Stone is "art," then he's gotta be freakin' Picasso by now.

\I don't care if he made a hardcore porn with Angelina Jolie playing Monica Lewinski, I still wouldn't watch a movie made by that schifferbrainz!

Re-releasing "Hanoi Hilton" on DVD with an interview with John McCain added in is not really "pro-McCain", tard-bomb.

I thought the going line was that Hollywood was run by Jews, but with the assistance of the gays.

I just can't keep up with today's intolerance.

Well, someone needs to choreograph. Have you ever been to a Bar Mitzvah? Our people can't dance.

Bob Balaban: Wasn't An American Carol supposed to rally everyone to the Republican ticket?

It would have to, if it weren't for the vast left-wing conspiracy hadn't worked behind the scenes to make it flop.

How else can you explain a David Zucker film with Paris Hilton, Trace Atkins, Bill O'Reilly and Gary Coleman flopping?

You CAN'T!!1!

Poor widdle baby thinks Howwywood should be fair and impartial. Last I checked, the motion picture industry is a private business. You're not suggesting that the government step in and tell them what movies to make, are you?

No one's saying that at all, merely pointing out the MSM's throbbing schlong for Obama.

Yep. I'm a Jewish Furry Liberal Nerd. Oh, and I have asthma.

Incidentally, if you every go to NYC, go to Ben's Delicatessen on 38th between 7th and 8th. Great Jewish cuisine with slightly lower prices and much less crowding than Carnegie, Katz's or the 2nd Avenue Deli. Their corned beef and pastrami are both quite good but not as good as Katz's or 2nd Avenue, but their dinners? I took my parents there a few weeks ago, my mother ordered the flanken and she said it was like her bubbie used to make. What does THAT tell you?

So? Even if we all assume for the sake of argument that the MSM does favor Obama, what difference does it make? No one is forcing anyone to go see any movie, or tune in to a particular news station, or read any particular newspaper.

The election is decided on what the media choses or does not chose to show. Claiming the media has no influence is like claiming its the clouds, not the rain, that gets you wet.

2008-10-14 6:04:37 PM
Quite honestly, if I were running the Obama campaign, I would much prefer to see "W" released after the election. From a historical perspective, things like this can (and often do) backfire in completely unintended ways. I haven't seen the movie, but there is always the possibility that it is so completely over-the-top that it ends up alienating some of the more middle-of-the-road segments of the population.

It's still quite a stretch to suggest that anybody's vote would be changed by it, but all things being equal, I'm sure the Obama people would like as few potential complications as possible at this point. Even most Republicans would agree that the race is his to lose.

2008-10-14 6:07:12 PM
So an interview for a DVD extra for a 1987 movie counts as a "Pro-McCain movie" now?

Well, I can see that. It's the first time he's used the term "POW" when it was actually relevant to an interviewer's question.

2008-10-14 6:08:14 PM
I am excited to see RocknRolla though!

2008-10-14 6:09:24 PM
Really, McCains constant "POW"ing on the campaign trail has become somewhat of a joke. So, this movie was going to help?

2008-10-14 6:10:39 PM

Tacoby Bellisbury: The election is decided on what the media choses or does not chose to show.

Funny, I thought the election was decided based on who the voters vote for.

Claiming the media has no influence is like claiming its the clouds, not the rain, that gets you wet.

I didn't claim the media had no influence. I just said that it doesn't matter because there are hundreds of different places to go to get your fill of news. If option A doesn't pander to your prejudices and preconceived notions of the world so you don't have to be faced with the ghastly possibility that there are people out there that don't share your views, there's always options B, C, D, E, F...

I'm sorry; I must have missed the numerous cites, quotes, footnotes and references in your post to back up your claim about Hollywood repeating certain lies about Obama.

Lemme check again....

/probably not...
//Obama needs to win by more votes than the GOP can steal
///good thing he's up 52% - 39%
