Pumpkin pie I understand. Its Thanksgiving. Therefore, its American and patriotic. But there is no justification for any other "custard" pie. No sugar creme pie, not sweet potato pie. Those pies lead only to hating of true America and true American pies...like banana cream pie.

And there is nothing more patriotic than cherry pie, except for apple pie. But on the spectrum of patriotic pies bannana is a distant 10th, while sweet potato is found just on the other side of Nazi Germany's "Black Forest Pie". Sure it looks good at first...then you realize that it really only wants one thing...complete domination of your appetite.

None of the pilgrims ate sweet potato pie. It was pumpkin pie handed down to them by God for stealing the indians' land.

Lemon meringue is simply a tribute to the wonderful melting pot that is the United States. Its delicious...and its more like a jelly than custard, anyway. Mmmmm lemon jelly filled donuts.....
