Well..what else?
2003-01-01 05:56:50 AM
And I still don't understand a damn thing I just read. :(
2003-01-01 05:58:30 AM
I like this guy's writting style.

Poster, got any more?
2003-01-01 05:59:33 AM
that was irritating to read
2003-01-01 06:00:11 AM
I thought it said "Albert Einstein's Theory of Relativity explained in four words or less"
2003-01-01 06:00:20 AM
Fine article. Good job, Poster.
2003-01-01 06:00:36 AM
I'm waiting for the illustrated version.
2003-01-01 06:05:10 AM
BlueMeanie "You wouldn't understand it." Hows that for four words or less? :) Oh, and that is referring to the general population, not you specificly. So don't kill me if youre a physics major or something.
2003-01-01 06:12:54 AM
BlueMeanie, I was thinking the same thing and saw this long page show up: "This is a bit more than four words."

Yeah, then I read the title clearly like a sane person and it finally fell into place.

I get it now. That was probably the most amount of time I've spent on a fark article.

Who in the hell is Izzy?
2003-01-01 06:49:56 AM

Read the very bottom. Isaac Newton.
2003-01-01 06:51:40 AM
Isaac Newton. Ari is Aristotle. If you read everthing, you don't have to ask stupid questions.

Isaac Newton. Ari is Aristotle. If you read everthing, you don't have to ask stupid questions.

And if you reread everything, then you don't need to make stupid spelling errors.
2003-01-01 06:56:04 AM
Fair enough...
2003-01-01 06:59:30 AM
Why do you farkers jump all over each other? I thought we were brotherhood here?
2003-01-01 07:03:59 AM
"Why do you farkers jump all over each other? I thought we were brotherhood here?"

Because haven't ya heard? Everyone on fark knows everything about everything. and if you have a different opinion about something, then you are wrong, and they are right. And they have to let you know it. Repeatedly.
2003-01-01 07:06:56 AM

That's wrong. Also, you are an idiot. Good day.
2003-01-01 07:07:42 AM
If you have your nose in my ass, then we both have a nose in an ass. The only question that remains is 'who is more comfortable?'
2003-01-01 07:15:29 AM
I like monkeys!
2003-01-01 07:19:19 AM
I thought 2003 was listed as the "Year of teh Boobi3s?"

what gives?

2003-01-01 07:23:30 AM
still too many words
2003-01-01 07:58:46 AM
Not fun to read
2003-01-01 08:11:27 AM
I just want to know how much it is in metric.
2003-01-01 08:12:11 AM
That was the most un-fun thing i've ever read. Ever.
2003-01-01 08:13:36 AM
I like the way time magazine explained it better.

You watch a person drop a ball from 5 feet.

it goes down

| ^
| |
V and comes back up |

now assume that person is on a flatbed of a train, and he drops the ball from 5 feet. The train is moving, you see the ball fall and rise at diagonal angles.

\ /
\ /

the same event, two different conditions. But because the second one was at a diagonal, the path it took was longer, the fall and rise times longer. So, the same event, two different times.

At least thats how i think it went. Time is relative :)
2003-01-01 08:14:14 AM
hmmm..fark doesn't like my text formating...ah wells, use your imagination ;)
2003-01-01 08:16:48 AM
imagines whirled peas

Yep, got it!
2003-01-01 08:20:02 AM
I still think its a bunch of bull. This whole space/time crap just seems like so much sci fi.
2003-01-01 08:25:36 AM
Good article, but it missed out the bit about c=Eminem squared.

Will the real Stephen Hawking please stand up, please stand up.....
2003-01-01 08:38:57 AM
Oops. That would be "E="

2003-01-01 08:40:01 AM
Like, whoa!
2003-01-01 08:42:41 AM

You're right, they're bamboozling you. In truth, God created the universe and set in motion seven crystal spheres around the earth, in which all heavenly bodies are embedded.
2003-01-01 08:47:47 AM
is it just me or is it like 5x harder to understand because of the four letter per word limit?
2003-01-01 08:51:03 AM
"We move all the time, even as we sit here. We spin, in fact."

Heh heh. That cracks me up for some reason. I still believe in harmonious four day timecube, however.
2003-01-01 08:52:31 AM
I don't know about Einstein's Theory of Relativity, but I can sum up Isac Newton's Theory of Gravity in four words or less.

Fall Down, Go Boom
2003-01-01 09:26:57 AM
Wow ! great post ! that link has been sent to countless clueless friends who have never heard of FARK.

Happy 2003 everyone.
2003-01-01 09:31:24 AM
is it just me or is it like 5x harder to understand because of the four letter per word limit?

Yea. I agree with you. That's what I was thinking when I read it too. I guess this was an attempt to make the subject easier to understand. But the writing style is so forced that it actually makes it harder.
2003-01-01 09:39:18 AM
for those unacquainted with the harmonious four day timecube,

... sounds real to me.
2003-01-01 09:40:41 AM
This may be a little late, but...

Caitiff Actually if two objects are dropped from the same same height (in a vacuum - no friction to account for), they will always hit the ground at the same time. If one object is travelling at a high velocity and the other is standing still (relative to you, the observer), it will not make them fall to the ground at different speeds.

When I was in eigth grade we had this gun that shot one ball bearing and dropped the other one on the ground when the trigger was pulled. The two ball were held at the same height initially. When one ball was shot forward, the other would simultaneously drop. They both hit the ground at the same time.

What's the smartest thing to come out of a woman's mouth?

.....Einsteins' third arm.

2003-01-01 10:00:18 AM
that was a great read, its quite a feat not to even use a 5-letter word
2003-01-01 10:30:00 AM
Bomb go boom.
2003-01-01 10:34:54 AM
As you get near c, how fast a ray goes, your mass gets so big that it can't move cuz it will take too much push.

2003-01-01 10:43:43 AM
I thought it said Theory of Relativity Explained With Four Letter Words, which would be an interesting approach, perhaps even ebonic.
2003-01-01 10:52:30 AM
I tried to masturbate to that article, but I wasn't sure if I was at rest or spinning.
2003-01-01 11:02:49 AM
It's hard to believe, but the story was better than comments.
