John McCain???

2008-10-04 10:07:21 PM
If there hadn't been a tv show called Maverick back when McCain was twenty-something, he wouldn't even know the word existed.

James Garner should sue.

That's nice Hillary. I still hate you.

I still don't understand how McCain has made it this far. Arizona has had some great and colorful politicians -- Barry Goldwater being the most well-known. But Bruce Babbitt and Rose Mofford are more fit to lead this country than McCain. And Rose is 86 years old!

As far as dirtbag, attention-whore Arizona politicos go, I rank John McCain right there with Evan Mecham and Fife Symington. I wish the press would stop associating his name with my state.

Basically this.

I'm agreeing with something Hillary said.

The four horsemen are mounting up now.

2008-10-04 10:36:37 PM
Is Hillary still around? She must be pretty busy, with all that stumping for Obama and whatnot.

McCain would make a terrible mime. He'd never get himself out of that invisible box, what with being unable to raise his arms above his head.

First:

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton on Saturday called Republican presidential candidate John McCain not a maverick but a "mimic" of President Bush.

Second:

"He's not a maverick. He's a mimic," she said.

The article mimics itself...surprised it didn't end with some form of that line.

Personally, the only time I want to see the Fark user image tag associated with a politician is if that politician actually does something heroic, like saving a puppy from a shark or rescuing a kitten from a tree. In the real world, I don't see politicians of any stripe providing this level of service to the people who pay their salaries.

Really, though: an invisible box is much worse. You can't even see the invisible Viet Cong poking at you with their invisible sticks.

ADVANCED MIMIC _____ CR 6

N Huge aberration (shapechanger)
Init +4; Senses darkvision 60 ft.; Listen +10, Spot +10
Languages Common

Feats Alertness, Improved Initiative, Lightning Reflexes, Weapon Focus (slam)
Skills Climb +15, Disguise +15, Listen +10, Spot +10

Adhesive (Ex) A mimic exudes a thick slime that acts as a powerful adhesive, holding fast any creatures or items that touch it. An adhesive-covered mimic automatically grapples any creature it hits with its slam attack. Opponents so grappled cannot get free while the mimic is alive without removing the adhesive first. A weapon that strikes an adhesive-coated mimic is stuck fast unless the wielder succeeds on a DC 21 Reflex save. A successful DC 21 Strength check is needed to pry it off. Strong alcohol dissolves the adhesive, but the mimic still can grapple normally. A mimic can dissolve its adhesive at will, and the substance breaks down 5 rounds after the creature dies.
Crush (Ex) A mimic deals 2d6+8 points of damage with a successful grapple check.
Mimic Shape (Ex) A mimic can assume the general shape of any object that fills roughly 150 cubic feet (5 feet by 5 feet by 6 feet), such as a massive chest, a stout bed, or a wide door frame. The creature cannot substantially alter its size, though. A mimic's body is hard and has a rough texture, no matter what appearance it might present. Anyone who examines the mimic can detect the ruse with a successful Spot check opposed by the mimic's Disguise check. Of course, by this time it is generally far too late.

Now, if she'd said this during the primary, with a helping of "Let's make sure my esteemed primary opponent and I remember just what we're running for"...she might actually be facing him this election.

But that's hindsight LASIK for ya.

Wow.

Hillary is really jumping into this and stumping hard for Obama.

I'm confused.

Maybe she thinks there's a cabinet post in it for her?
Nah... That'd be giving up a seat in a tight Senate....

Hmm...

Is she actually being a team player?!!

Romney was too Mormon.
Huckabee was too honest.
Guiliani is a douchebag.
Ron Paul was too libertarian.
Fred Thompson was, well, Fred Thompson.

Where did she say it...in Harlem, Southside Chi-Town, or South-Central LA?

/location
//timing
///drtfa

Or did she say it to a needed constituency, in a prime location, in a way that'll generate positive media attention?

How long are the Obama dems gonna let the Clintons ride the fence? Wait, they're the Clintons...they do what the hell they want.
