Is that Mt. Fuji in the shot?

What smoking crater? I at least expected to see some smoke.
2002-12-29 03:30:50 PM
Wow. That post was a good as the Bengals.
2002-12-29 03:32:02 PM
Ahh the memories, but to whoever posted this.
I flew over downtown Cincy this morning around 830 and all I could see was a bunch of dust. Was downtown yesterday for the UC vs. Miami bball game, and it was sad to see Riverfront Stadium, the only stadium I've ever been to besides Paul Brown, in it's final days.
The Cincinnati skyline will never be the same.
2002-12-29 03:32:44 PM
Besides, they should've torn down Paul Brown. Waste of space for the Cincy Bungles.

Glad to know I'm not the only one disappointed.

This is the junk that gets posted to Fark these days? Some grainy picture that's obviously related to some localized demolition event? It's not like they knocked down the stadium in the middle of a game.

I used to come to Fark 10 times a day and click on 75% of the links. Now I come only twice and click on only a couple...

It's not like they knocked down the stadium in the middle of a game

Wouldn't really be news then, either. I mean, there wouldn't be any fans sitting in the stands...

Should I cry for you Decker12?

I hate the artemis web-cams. ...can never see anything in them. How am I supposed to tell if I-71 or I-75 is backed up if the resolution is so poor that I cannot make out the interstate, let alone the cars!!!

Long live John Phillips!

Artemis is just a stupid waste of tax dollars to fill affirmative action quotas and give dumb ass people in Over The Rhine jobs.
I could just as easily turn on WLW and find the traffic.

As a Columbus OH citizen, i miss the Bengals....being good. Too bad the Bengals were absent of the stadium...Go bucks beat the canes(sorry had to)
2002-12-29 04:14:14 PM
Is there a vid of this not on Real Player?
2002-12-29 04:16:05 PM
Decker12 Just gave the old man speech. ''back in my day, Fark was good, blah blah blah..'' . fark still owns, so go find some other site. beeyotch.

I miss the bengals too. I still root for them but I know they are a loseing team anymore. I remember when they were in the superbowl back in 89. even if they didn't win, it was cool while it lasted. of couse I got a lions jacket for christmas and they are just as bad this season. not that I follow football that much

What exactly am I looking at? It looks like one of those magic eye things, only shiatty and made by a two year with a gray crayon.

This is what's wrong with the internet. A bunch of people posting 12x12 grainy ass pictures on the internet then saying "Huh huh, this is AWESOME!"

Now we just need someone to turn it into a flashing banner ad. Someone please do that now.

I was in Cincy to see the stadium's demise...I must say it was a big let down. They should have put on a show for the thousands of on-lookers, and thrown in about four times the explosives at the last minute, or done a couple of other buildings just for fun... It just seemed so anti-climatic to have everything go so well, I mean they didn't even "accidentally" take out a chunk of the Great American Ballpark!
2002-12-29 05:19:34 PM
BOOM! Tee hee!
2002-12-29 08:39:58 PM
The best part was when the building feel down!

Sorry, I'll take credit for this one- my fault. :) But I have various good excuses:

- I didn't expect that it would ever make the main page. I submitted for the benefit of TotalFarkers.
- It was pretty cool when I submitted it (the camera was actually pointed at the stadium)
- I was overwhelmed by actually seeing something neat and useful on an Artimis camera.
- I was hoping, if it made the mainpage, for it to function as a forum for those who saw it and want to discuss (which sorta did happen)
- I was also, sadistically, wanting to see Artimis crushed under the power of Fark
- and of course, I was up all night so I could see it happen. Unfortunately, the plans never materialized and I watched on tv.

Oh well- get over it. I expected this a soon as I saw my articles posted number as higher, but the article wasn't there yet. Then I fell asleep, and couldn't say anything until now.

is it me or does Cincinnati make fark alot? it might be because I live here, so i notice it more...
2002-12-29 09:37:04 PM
No, it does. Mainly because there are a lot of Cincinnati farkers, I think. I personally like it because we then get the chance to mock local issues in the forums.
2002-12-29 10:39:06 PM
Not too much has been on about Cincy lately. I submit my weekly Bengals loss headlines, but they don't seem to make it like they used to (not complaining! just observing). This is the first story I've seen about Cincinnati in a long time.
We need another riot to liven things up.

Feh. I didn't know that people were done complaining about the destruction of Crosley Field, just so that monstrosity could be built. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
2002-12-30 10:56:14 AM
Atlanta Fulton County, and Three Rivers were just like this POS stadium, Bad for football, worse for baseball.
Good riddance to Riverfront Stadium.
2002-12-30 12:26:38 PM
OK, Seattle might be a full ten years behind in putting traffic cameras everywhere there's bad traffic, but they don't look as crappy as that, and we even get FMV at a few of them.
2002-12-30 09:27:18 PM
I wish they would have let Pete Rose push the "Demolish" button. Cincinnati is on Fark a lot because we have a lot of "not news," e.g. Runaway Cow.
2002-12-30 10:16:41 PM
I'm officially ticked. Why the admin would choose to post this crappy traffic cam over the streaming video link of the actual event I submitted is beyond me. The TotalFark next to my name may not return.
