I still don't think McCain will drop Palin, but if he really, really wanted to do so, he could always use the trooper-gate scandal.

His campaign first stops stonewalling the trooper-gate investigation. Instead they quietly ensure that if damning, undiscovered evidence of her wrongdoing exists, it finds its way into investigators' hands. Palin is forced out. McCain looks like a rube for picking her, but quickly replaces her with Huckabee and hopes people stop thinking about it over the next five weeks.

Does subby know that 3 of the 4 columnists listed were conservatives? They could have added George Will, cause he hates her too.

When the guys and a gal who are supposed to have your back and fight for you on the pages of the daily papers are not willing to defend you in print, then yes, you DO have problems.
