Well he bashes Fox News. Thats good enough for me.
2002-12-25 11:43:02 PM
Heh. Yep, Fox News needs to be bashed.
2002-12-25 11:48:47 PM
He likes Adult Swim, and Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law, it the best show ever.
2002-12-25 11:50:33 PM
Anyone who lends any credence to ACTORS (i.e. "Even TV's version of the president, Martin Sheen himself, was incredulous, arguing, "I think he'd like to hand his father Saddam Hussein's head and win his approval for what happened after the Gulf War"." ) shows how truly ignorant they are.
2002-12-25 11:51:48 PM
Viva America!!!
2002-12-25 11:56:00 PM
Cosmiverse is teh suk!!!!
2002-12-25 11:56:18 PM
Finally a post worth reading. And he hated A Beautiful Mind too.
2002-12-25 11:56:34 PM
This is just a sloshed bunch of opinions. I agree with many though.
2002-12-25 11:57:20 PM
librul piece of crap.
2002-12-25 11:57:49 PM
Bunch of crap. More of the world, thinking Hollywood is America. Even crapier hollywood thinking they are America and can tell us what to do and how to think.
2002-12-25 11:58:06 PM
Liked Lord of the Rings: Check
Hated a Beautiful Mind: Check
Hates Eminem: Check
Hates Fox News: Check
Likes Adult Swim: Check

Ok fine, he can be my friend...
2002-12-25 11:58:57 PM
Wow, nerdy and left wing at the same time. Who the hell cares about the holywood types, and thinks their lives account for any level of our culture outside of the works they are part of? Poor definition of culture if you ask me.
2002-12-25 11:58:58 PM
In what way was Lord of the Rings an American cultural thing?

Tolkien was South African, Peter Jackson is from New Zealand. Only about a quarter of the main cast is American. It was filmed in New Zealand.

The money came from the US, that's about it. Don't try to pretend that LOTR is American.
2002-12-25 11:59:15 PM
fvck you Facts. it was cool.
2002-12-25 11:59:46 PM
Ugh. It seems some of the monkeys aren't even trying to type Shakespeare anymore.
2002-12-26 12:01:38 AM
Decent article. The only part I disagree with though is the big about ATHF. I don't think I've laughed so hard at a cartoon since The Simpsons or the dubbing in the remastered Akira.
2002-12-26 12:02:01 AM
dj shadow is the best thing to happen to music since the phonograph.
2002-12-26 12:02:14 AM
I have to agree with his takes on DJ Shadow and Trail of Dead. And, Fox News is wack. I don't really get the whole uproar over Augusta National though.
2002-12-26 12:02:27 AM
big=bit. Eggnog in my system? Naaaa...
2002-12-26 12:02:43 AM
The octopus was very scary.
2002-12-26 12:02:54 AM
I can't believe i'm agreeing with MC_500foot_Nietzsche but he's right, LOTR is hardly an American triumph
2002-12-26 12:04:29 AM
headline should read:
"The best and worst of American Culture in 2002 if you are gay"
2002-12-26 12:04:47 AM
He who "likes Adult Swim" and yet denies Aqua Teen Hunger Force does not truly love the Adult Swim.

Tragic. There is none so blind as he who will not see.
2002-12-26 12:05:51 AM
Heathen! Aqua Teen is the main reason I watch Adult Swim. It's by far one of hte best shows on tv these days....
2002-12-26 12:06:01 AM
yeah, what IS up with dissing aqua teen hunger force? fark this guy.
2002-12-26 12:06:19 AM
I dunno why he bothers having a stab at Augusta though

2002-12-26 12:07:03 AM
Ignignokt and Err do not approve.
2002-12-26 12:08:12 AM
when is adult swim on? please tell me. ive seen it once but i dont remember where or when
2002-12-26 12:09:28 AM
around 11PM EST on sundays
2002-12-26 12:11:24 AM
America? Culture?
2002-12-26 12:11:33 AM
I grabbed Trail of the Dead from the used bin for $4.00 the other day.
2002-12-26 12:13:00 AM
Aqua teen is good, but the best show in my opinion is Home Movies...definetly home movies...its hilarious ! i also loved space ghost when it was first on, i mean , what other cartoon talked about transvestites ? space ghost is awesome.
2002-12-26 12:13:08 AM
2002-12-26 12:14:14 AM
What does America have to do..
MC_500foot_Nietzsche I just found your post, I was going to type the exact same thing. USA had very little to do with LOTR except for funding. Nothing cultural at all. :)
2002-12-26 12:15:23 AM
I also see Spirited Away on the list.. he says it's there because Disney paid to bring it to the US. Again money != culture.
2002-12-26 12:16:32 AM
I didn't recognise any of the good list, apart from LOTR.

DJ who?

Hmm...does DJ Who travel around in a phone booth bigger on the inside than it is on the outside?
2002-12-26 12:17:06 AM
as i sit here wearing my Aqua-Teen Hunger Force T-shirt, i am outraged by this man's obvious lack of artistic taste.
2002-12-26 12:17:54 AM
good record reviews, some of you just wish you had some good music to listen to. but no way. who needs music when you got fatty foods to stuff down your throats.
2002-12-26 12:18:02 AM
He mentioned Adult Swim, but dissed Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and didn't even mention Sealab 2021.

He can not be my friend.
2002-12-26 12:21:31 AM
dirk nowitzki, wang zhi-zhi, najera, the canadian....

go mavs, and yea america.
2002-12-26 12:21:35 AM
Someone has a hard-on for LOTR.
2002-12-26 12:22:31 AM
Well, his top two entries are a new-zeland made movie adaptation of a british book. And the second is a japanese film.
2002-12-26 12:24:01 AM
WHERES THE FARKIN SEALAB 2021??????!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!
2002-12-26 12:25:55 AM
dirk nowitzki, wang zhi-zhi, najera, the canadian....

That Canadian is Steve Nash! Don't ever forget that!

Sorry if that sounds rude, but we Canadians don't have much in the basketball world to be proud of. Nash and Naismith, and not much else.
2002-12-26 12:26:07 AM
Hooray for Trail of Dead.
2002-12-26 12:27:18 AM
I would have put Spirited Away on the list for reasons American culture sucks--for the way Disney treated its release. It was shown it what, like 6 cities?
2002-12-26 12:29:33 AM
JihadJoe... small world. I know Steve Nash.
and the home of the brave...
2002-12-26 12:30:02 AM
The guy who wrote that list is a dog douche.
2002-12-26 12:33:02 AM

Is there a reason I can't save FF7 on my PS2, even though I have a memory card in? (Yes I'm using save points)

Do I need a PS1 memory card too? Argh. I really don't want to turn it off, becuase I'm sort-of-almost-kinda-maybe-not-really far into the game.
2002-12-26 12:33:24 AM

i knew there had to be such a thing as a "rude canadian." heh.

magloire, too. i think.
