As long as he makes sure the voters know that McCain was balls deep in multiple major financial bailouts and meltdowns and actually wedged "lefty" all up in the S&L scandal, I think he'll be ok.

I don't know, I don't recall John McCain ever mentioning that fact. Did anyone else know he was a POW?

Even if Obama wins, you need to keep in mind that John McCain spoke exclusively in tap code for 5 1/2 years. The fact that he can even still make a glottal stop is a testament to his maverickness.

John McCain spent five and half years without being able to oversight the American economy!

You misunderstood. He was called "song bird" because of all the anti-American propaganda in which he participated during his POW tour.

FTA, "In another debate, Obama was asked how he'd respond militarily if terrorists attacked two American cities simultaneously. Rather than display any passion, Obama discussed emergency response procedures and intelligence-gathering."

The correct answer is clearly, "Find out which brown people did it and bomb a couple neighboring countries to show them who's boss."

Passion is the last thing i want my President to display in times of crisis... I would want an ice-cold mutha in the Oval Office if something like that went down again.

I love the "Uh" attack line, because people who think about what they say are the wrong kind of people...I remember an article/study I read on the subject in the early 90's and they were mentioning the average numbers for political figures (of the time) of "uh"s and "um"s, and other thought pauses....Dan Quayle had the lowest count of any major political figure at the time, ergo he spent the least amount of time thinking about what he was going to say next....

McCain is going taste the back of Obama's hand and it tatstes like cinnamon. McCain's people are sh*tting themselves more than McCain does.

Obama does extremely well (even without a teleprompter) when he gets to be aggressive; when he's not just trying to mollify people and get past the latest scandal o' the week pushed either by the McCain campaign or by the right-wing propaganda machine.

And the way things are going right now, he's going to have the chance to be very aggressive against McCain, because it's him who's on the defensive.

Also, McCain's not gonna be able to pull the old "elitist ivy leaguer was pickin' on me and interruptin'!" victim-playing bullshiat the media let the Bush campaign get away with. NOBODY's gonna buy it.

Obama may not be the verbal god some (on BOTH sides of the aisle) like to pretend he is, but anyone who thinks he's just not very good at debating or somehow would be handicapped in a debate with McCain has another thing coming.

He'll certainly be better at it than anyone since Bill Clinton.

I was going to be concerned at people being conserned, but I don't think I will be.

I hope someone asks McCain how the word 'oversight' ISN'T another way of saying 'regulation' (as are words like 'policing' and 'safeguarded'). Because he's all for less regulations, but an awful lot of oversight.

And if they aren't comparable, why are we paying $700 billion to bail out Wall Street's greed, only to sit there and watch them do the same thing again (and again, with no way to intervene)?

So, it's important to judge a whole debate by one zinger delivered:

"Hillary, you're likable enough" = smug and tone deaf

"I'm looking forward to you advising me" = witty and poignant

Got it. Either that or the author is a total idiot.
