I feel bad for every player that's ever played for the Lions!
2002-12-23 01:02:13 PM
Oops!! Except for Barry Sanders, I sure do miss him. He was by far, the best!
2002-12-23 01:02:41 PM
last time the lions were great was in 1957.
2002-12-23 01:02:58 PM
Is it me or does FARK really suck today?
2002-12-23 01:03:56 PM
Marty Mornenweg or whatever the fark his name is always carries around that Big Boy menu. After 2 years you would think he would know all the plays that dont work...
2002-12-23 01:04:38 PM
It's smegma.
2002-12-23 01:05:28 PM
Disband the team and just throw it away, like the Bengals should be. (although the Bengals actually won) :P

2002-12-23 01:06:04 PM
Q. Why doesn't Flint, MI have a professional football team?
A. Because then Detroit would want one
2002-12-23 01:06:20 PM
Detroit sux, eat brains!
2002-12-23 01:08:07 PM
(just a small reminder from the Philadelphia area:

Philadelphia, 12-3
Washington 6-9

2002-12-23 01:08:17 PM
Can we just fold the Lions and Bengals and get it over with?
2002-12-23 01:09:31 PM
Since my team is in the NFC Norse as well, I will say. The coaching staff of the lions is fine, everything is great. No changes needed.
2002-12-23 01:09:55 PM
I wish I could figure out why the Peons (lions) suck so bad. I mean for decades. it's not like Detroit doesn't support major league sports. Ownership needs to change. Ferget the worrying about coaching staff. That's ben changed regularly with no results.

What's still the same for years? Owners...
2002-12-23 01:10:52 PM
Yikes. The vikings had a (I think) 19 game road losing streak that they just ended last week. Of course, the last coach got canned.
2002-12-23 01:11:43 PM
OK, So the Lions can't seem to win a game. The Colorado Avalanche are winning, well some games, and they fire one of the greatest coaches in the game of hockey.

That will be all.

Your devoted Mayor, Mcfark.
2002-12-23 01:12:01 PM
Is there a way Washington can just not have their last game count? Finishing with a 6-9 record would just be too cool.

Don't worry will get it tegether next year, and give your boys a good whoopin or two. ;)

*whistles a merry tune in support of Atlanta* :)

Mayor-good call on the Avs. really, really a bad idea to fire him.
2002-12-23 01:21:45 PM
I would like to look at some boobies, but I really don't know how the internet, usenet, or peer-to-peer filesharing programs work. Thus, without boobies links fark, I shall remain without boobies. Post boobies links for me!
2002-12-23 01:22:57 PM
Guy Innagorillasuit, just head to

Regular bobbie posts.
2002-12-23 01:25:55 PM
Actually, sincerely lookin' forward to it Jammer! Dallas used to be the bad guys, but they've become so pathetic over the last couple of years, we've shifted them to the "Goodwill" pile. Youse guys are the nemesis, and it's always a good game against you. (Well... almost always.) Get well soon, and come next year we'll see you on the other side of the gridiron. I hear Reid is running low on pixie dust, and we should be back shoulder to shoulder next year. I miss those split seasons.
2002-12-23 01:26:03 PM
SilverDraghyeon I was being sarcastic, there seems to be more "This is lame, where are the boobies" posts than usual today. I will check that site out when I get home though...
2002-12-23 01:31:52 PM
Perigee Yeah, I yearn for the glory years of the NFC East when The Skins, Eagles, Dallas, and the Giants were all serious contenders. It made Sundays so much more exciting especially this time of year.
2002-12-23 01:32:52 PM
Maybe we should have a special playoff to determine once and for all which team is the all-time worst.
2002-12-23 01:35:11 PM
Perhaps he should continue to coach the lions. In Rome. In the Colliseum
2002-12-23 01:41:21 PM
Although the Packers utter dominance of the NFC Nort is to be expected, the Lions should feel free to show a little bit of heart instead of just rolling over like they did for Atlanta this weekend. I used to have a modicum of respect for the Lions, but now, they are down in the cellar with the 'Queens and Da Bears.

And here's a NEWSFLASH for all those complaining about the lack of b00bie posts: in case you haven't noticed, about 98.7% of the internet is dedicated to pornography. You might try looking somewhere else.

Go Pack!

2002-12-23 02:06:57 PM
Move the Lions to Fargo.
2002-12-23 02:12:11 PM
Otoscope: Maybe we should have a special playoff to determine once and for all which team is the all-time worst.

Not a bad idea you have there. You could call it the SuckBowl. You could get Hoover and Eureka to sponser it.

Bring back Wayne!
2002-12-23 02:13:02 PM
If you need-a da porn, see or ...those will keep you busy.

Meanwhile, the Packers are going to have a hard time in the playoffs, but I think they can pull it off.
2002-12-23 02:20:50 PM
I forgot to post my allegiance to the Packers.

Green Bay Packers Superbowl Champs 2003!
2002-12-23 02:27:59 PM
what the hell happened to the last boobies link? I didn't get to see it! ARGH! NEED MORE BOOBIES!
2002-12-23 02:30:02 PM
For the Lions, it was their seventh consecutive loss, their 12th in 15 games this season and their 16th road loss without a victory since Millen and Mornhinweg arrived nearly two years ago.

When was the last time they had a road loss with a win?
2002-12-23 02:49:21 PM
Brought to you by the same owners who gave you the Ford Pinto.
2002-12-23 03:01:55 PM
I was born into being a Lions fan. It's an affliction that is incurable, I'm afraid.

One of my favorite statistics about how pathetic my Lions team is, is this: In something like the last 50 years, no person who has been head coach of the Lions has EVER been head coach with any other NFL team.

They apparently get a taint.

This team has won ONE PLAYOFF GAME IN THE PAST 45 YEARS. (I was at it, by the way.)

It's greatest player ever, Barry Sanders, retired without telling anybody. The "braintrust" didn't find out about it until next year at training camp, when he didn't show up.

I have carefully analyzed this, and the only other team that can even remotely whine about being as inept as the Pontiac Pussies is the Cardinals. They've never won anywhere they've been, either.

The Bengals? Please. You've been to two Super Bowls. What's that like? A Lions fan wouldn't know, and the game's been around for decades.
2002-12-23 03:48:21 PM
there was another article in the freep about the public at large wanting new owners. the fords haven't done jack shiat with the team in 40 years. it's time to sell the lions to somebody with money and vision.

any multibillionaire's want to buy a slightly used and bruised football franchise?
2002-12-23 04:30:57 PM
I was also born in Detroit and watched the loser Lions for my entire childhood. Now that I live close to LA I enjoy not having a local team to root for. Sometimes I wake up at night in a cold sweat with the nightmare that the lions have moved to LA. That would be the worst. I prefer having no team.

William Clay Ford, the owner of the lions, should just take his money and throw it out the window for the homeless in Detroit to collect. He could then let a high school team play in place of the current team. No one would notice and hilarity would ensue.
2002-12-23 05:58:05 PM

Bobby Ross was the coach of the Lions and the Chargers, but he might be the only Lions coach in the last 50 years to coach two NFL teams. Bobby Ross was the only one I could come up with off the top of my head to refute your "favorite statistic".

I was also born into being a Lions fan, very unfortunate. But I figure all that has to happen is for the Cubs, White Sox & Red Sox to win World Series', then the Lions are due for that elusive Super Bowl victory! Hell, even the Patriots and Bengals have been in 4 combined Super Bowls in the last 25 years, so Detroit HAS to be due sooner or later. Let's remember younger Farkers, the Pats and Packers were laughing stocks of the NFL throughout most of the 70's and 80's. Last time the Lions were truly legit was back in '83 when Eddie Murray shanked a FG that would have sent Detroit to the NFC championship game.

The problem with the Lions is that old man Ford has never given two shiats about the product on the field as long as the Silverdome was near capacity every Sunday. Now that the younger Ford is taking over more and more, he seems much more interested on making the team better. Too bad Millen and Deer-in-headlights-in-way-over-his-head Morningweg haven't worked out.

Detroit Cobras rock.
2002-12-23 06:30:48 PM
I also was born in Michigan and brainwashed into being a Lions fan. Now I live in Arizona and have the Cards to cheer for!?!?! I was at the Cards vs the Lions game a few weeks ago thinking here was a chance to see the Lions win......
2002-12-23 11:36:57 PM
Whoooo! Go Lions!
It was great last year when the Lions almost lost every single game they played. I was cheering them on, and then they had to go and screw it up by winning a game. I can't blame Barry Sanders for trying to get off the Lions. How would you like to be one of the best running backs and trapped on the worst football team in the NFL? Until the owners try getting a real team put together, the Lions are gonna suck.
