John K must be a complete nightmare.

He created REN & STIMPY, and the first six eps he made were
brilliant and funny, even for all their crudeness. Then
Nickelodeon fired him from his own show but kept on producing
shows that were just as crude but not funny all (and don't get me
started about the hideous resurrection they tried on SPIKE TV a
few years back: that was about the worst piece of shiate I've ever
seen on TV, even worse than I WANT TO MARRY A MILLIONAIRE).

Alas, too many who followed him only focussed on being crass, not
being crass AND funny.

I agree completely, but I'd only want to get drunk with John Kricfalusi if I was wearing full body armor and had a flame thrower handy ;)

To be fair, Kricfalusi really lost it after those first few episodes. The ones they fired him over (Stimpy and his talking fart, the sheriff obsessed with hanging) were just as awful as the ones without him. And the SpikeTV episodes were all Kricfalusi.

You know, with just a slip of the pen, they could've been "Ben and Stampy".

There's a couple great episode, but I agree with the sentiment that it was an ok show with John, and pretty damn poor without him. There is something about the overall style of the animation I do enjoy. He gave the animators a lot of freedom to handle a gag. It provides an interesting contrast with a lot of other animation at the time where the writers held most of the power and they didn't get a chance to embellish any of the gags.

Can anyone tell me the episode or post a link to the one where Ren is sick and has to take off his fur? Also, what is the name of the music in this video and was also used in the Benjamin Button video?

Thanks,

John K did a version of Yogi Bear that was one of the most insane, twisted, and brilliant bits since Looney Tunes: Boo-Boo gets into the locoweed and Yogi spends the episode trying to stop Ranger Smith from putting Boo-Boo down.

Was he also responsible for the New Adventures of Mighty Mouse about 20 years ago? That was pretty twisted if I remember correctly...

As for the best episode ever, its gotta be Stimpy's fan club for me.

...how easily I could end the farce.

I'm jealous. I have a distinct memory of watching this very episode one Saturday morning, and if I'm correct the horse ends up putting rubber nipples on his knees and the sale is made. My sister and I thought this was hilarious and my Dad made us turn off the TV after he saw what we were laughing at.

No.

Sorry.

Blazing Entrails was the best episode ever. The dialogue that Stimpy spouts off is classic.

You know, I used to wonder why I was so messed up, and going back and re-watching shows I used to grow up on kind of explains a few things. God I miss quality entertainment like this.

Oh, and for those interested, here (new window) is someone's compilation of ALL the music used in Ren & Stimpy.
