I've been practicing the system since I was 20. I would recommend looking into it. It's a system without too many forms, but it's incredibly effective.

Taekwondo history is really complicated, but I find it hard to believe that Gen. Choi plotted to assassinate someone. It would seem to fail the courtesy and integrity bits.

It was supposed to be more of a conditioning regimen. If you want to get in shape, like really good shape, take TKD. If you want to be a psycho killer take something else afterward. People who take TKD and think they are the ultimate street fighter can get themselves hurt VERY badly. Even the people I was paying to teach me the shiat told me that.
