Actually, this poll is about as important as any other presidential poll. They are all useless.

Ron Paul still wins among people named Ron Paul. And that's what really matters.

/RON PAUL!

Ironically, men are more willing to vote for a woman president than women voters by a 89% to 81% margin.

Who's sexist now, biatches???!

No, because we will always have fools to believe in them, and media to use them for their respective agendas.

FTFA: Voters by a substantial majority think a woman is likely to be elected president of the United States in the next 10 years, and nearly half (48%) think Hillary Clinton is at least somewhat likely to be the one.

I do survey design for a living, and if that's honestly how they're asking the questions then they might as well not run the survey period.

"Question 1. Do you think that Hillary maybe might somewhat be possibly a choice that could conceivably become maybe the president in a the somewhat near future? Yes/No"

Heh. I'd have put Palin at 128Mb but you still get a golf clap for that.

So then you admit, they have a use. Even if that use is to be purchased by idiots.

Question then, why are Gallup polls fairly accurate predictors of national opinion?

Seriously, you need to lower Palin to 128 Mb.

I'm sure if you put a flaming dog turd up against Hillary, 40% of the American people would rather vote for the flaming dog turd.

Uh...no...being Gov of Alaska is pretty unimpressive. I know the graphic above is meant to be a joke, but anyone with half a brain would pick an active US Senator of a fairly populous state (with one of the US's largest cities in it) over anyone from Alaska.

Keep telling yourself that. Especially about the composite EV projections.

When you run for VP with a PresCand that has McCain's age/health - how is that different again?

Do you seriously think that dude has 8 years left? (or 4?)

If you really did survey design well you'd know the questions were framed like this:

Q1. How likely or unlikely do you think there will be a woman President in the next ten years?
A. Very Likely
B. Slightly Likely
C. No opinion
D. Slightly Unlikely
E. Very Unlikely

Q2. I'm going to read off a list of names, and you tell me how likely or unlikely using that same scale you think it is they will be President:
Q2a. Hillary Clinton
Q2b. Condoleeza Rice
Q2c. Your mom

The nearly half (48%) think Hillary Clinton is at least somewhat likely to be the one just means they totaled up the responses of A and B, so 48% said they either thought it was Very Likely or Slightly Likely. You want to suffer like a surveyor? Say "Slightly Likely" 100 times.

Yeah. McCain is only a 72-year-old five-time cancer survivor. I'm sure there's very little chance that his VP will ever need to step-in and take over. His VP choice is practically irrelevant.

On a related note, here's some words of wisdom from Karl Rove on the importance of the VP pick:

"With all due respect again to Governor Kaine, he's been a governor for three years, he's been able but undistinguished," Rove said. "I don't think people could really name a big, important thing that he's done. He was mayor of the 105th largest city in America."

Rove continued: "So if [Obama] were to pick Governor Kaine, it would be an intensely political choice where he said, `You know what? I'm really not, first and foremost, concerned with, is this person capable of being president of the United States? What I'm concerned about is, can he bring me the electoral votes of the state of Virginia, the 13 electoral votes in Virginia?'"

NYZooMan: Poll you WON'T see:

Who do you think is a chickenshiat?

Let's see about that:

Barack Obama, who will be going on the ORLY Factor, with a host who has made it known that he does not like the candidate,

or:

John McCain, who withdrew from a Larry "Teddy Bear" King appearance because a CNN anchor had the journalistic responsibility gall to question Palin's qualifications.

And who exactly is chickenshiat?

soy_bomb: And wouldn't Biden's stick read 1GB and only really be a 512MB DIMM but claim to be 2GB?

Exactly! (I think Biden was almost as bad a choice for VP as Palin)

In other news: An unknown governor from Alaska who's been in the race less than a week polled 40% against the runner up for democratic presidential nominee who had been in the race since last year.

Thats some fine campaigning there, Madam.

As one who works in market research/political polling, the term often used is "Somewhat" Likely, not "slightly".
