I heard she got kicked out of the Playboy Mansion after showing up in just a bathrobe and demanding pictures with Matthew Perry or something. I had a stroke when I read the weapons-grade stupidity in the other article though, so I may be off a tad.

That being said, her performance in THE UPSIDE OF ANGER was fantastic. A totally underused talent, pushed aside for lessers like Julia Roberts, et al.

I've said it once and I'll say it again- after seeing the Death Race trailer I want to rail the living sh*t out of evil Joan Allen.

/Regular Joan Allen too, just not Upside of Anger Joan Allen. I couldn't deal with that shiat.

You're mistaking her for Jon Lovitz. Fairly common mistake, I've heard. ;)

On more than one occasion I've been overheard saying that Joan's the American Helen Mirren. Meaning that they're both older than I, both exquisite at what they do and both in the top 5 of actresses that I'd...have dinner and conversation with.

yes and yes you would. she wouldn't necessarily get more than a passing leer from me if i passed her on the street in a big city, but someone who's that good at their art...you'd hit it. being around her would be, i imagine, intoxicating.

While it would seem to be difficult to improve on what is already a near-flawless foundation, she does seem to be accomplishing just that with each passing year.

Of course, "vacations" in Brazil go a long way.
