Nonsense. Bush is only up to stick figures.

I do think some people reacted to the cover like a bunch of hypersensitive ninnies. No, it wasn't necessarily good satire or particularly funny satire (which is pretty standard for a New Yorker cartoon), but I think anyone with an ounce of sense could figure out what they were trying to say about some things circulating about regarding the Obamas.

I don't blame Bush for the way his supporters act, I blame their parents for not marrying outside the immediate family.

I am in 100% agreement. It's like calling "All In The Family" racist.

agreed.

and the article wasn't exactly blaming bush... it was saying the past 8 years have made liberal bloggers hypersensitive and caused them to lose their sense of humor, which is probably true. if you believed they had one to begin with, which is debatable.

Liberals on the internet have lost their sense of humor? Why is it Farkers and DailyKossacks seem to find the death of any Republican to by amusing?

Here is an article that will NEVER get a green light on "left wing" Fark, because it makes Obama look bad.

The Incredibly Thin Skin of Barack Obama (new window)

Barack and his brainwashed followers need to get over it.

This is the New Yorker, after all. Satire is what they do.

The Obama campaign knows that Jo Bob and his wife/sister/grandma Selma don't read the New Yorker, but they know they'll see this image on the tee-vee. And the imagery will be enough to once again reinforce the slanted view.

Now, I'm not the stereotypical New Yorker reader and I figured that out, so 'I'm a thinkin' the New Yorker staff ain't got all the cylinders a-firin'. They should have known this would have a negative effect and that Bush would be blamed for it, even though the New Yorker has supported Obama throughout the campaign.

From the "artical" DanUFfan linked (comments):

Seems his reaction is the reaction any good Muslim would have over a cartoon.

Republicans wouldn't know humor if they tripped over it!

Look at their comedians ...Rush, Dennis Miller ...all lame

and then there's the ultra funny Cox and Forkum cartoons...A.D. favorite...seriously lame!

Not really no, and I said that's all I remember...I don't keep good track of specific posters unless they're either really amusing or really annoying.

Ha! I love American Thinker - it's my favorite unintentional humor site.

BTW, Fark greenlights articles from there (example), and it even has its own tag, but don't let that stop you from spouting precious nonsense.

Or maybe because it is an asinine comparison? Two images, the first some unknown collage of unflattering pics of Bush, the second the photoshopped cover of a German magazine? Both while Bush was already president and waging war?

This compares to the Obama cover?

That's a big farking slice of fail right there.

I'm not even arguing that Obama doesn't have a thin skin. He may, but that article doesn't show it, nor does it show the thin skin of liberals.

I see, well I'm not a troll - but an even rarer breed on Fark - a conservative. I come in spurts because I'm working on my masters degree and school for 3 months, and work for 3 months, and have no time to Fark at school. Sadly, I won't have time to witness Fark during the election madness this fall, so don't be too worried about me.

Obama better toughen up because the cartoons making him looks stupid are going to be a lot more prevalent.

I really don't think we heard the current white house whining about all the cartoon depictions of W. But he isn't used to being coddled by the media.

Well you seem actually capable of real conversation, so maybe you're not a troll. :) I'd humbly ask that you avoid making posts like your first one in here...we really really need some rational conservatives in this place and if you're just going to say the same things as the trolls, it rather defeats the purpose.

Or maybe you were just joking and my sarcasm meter is broken or something (I've been drinking so that's entirely possible).

As an Obama supporter I'm outraged by this!

Actually not so much... Knowing that it was the New Yorker I recognized it for what it was. The only people who were truly offended were the folks who either a) clueless or b) have no sense of humor.

Subby has serious reading comprehension problems. Nothing in the article blames Bush for the New Yorker cover.

Blames him for people's reaction to the cover, maybe. But that is not the same,

That cover wasn't so much about what conservatives think Obama is like as it's about what LIBERALS THINK conservatives think Obama is like. Listen to Bob Beckel rail about the "racist conservatives" that are putting this stuff out there (to be fair, Beckel has been pushing this garbage since the mid-90's... only now he has an actual black candidate). Problem: several of those idiotic little memes (Obama was a drug dealer, Obama is a Muslim, Michelle Obama's non-existent "Whitey" speech) have been traced back to Democrats (in all three of these cases, Hillary supporters).

The gist of it all is this: Obama (and especially his campaign) can't take a punch. Not even one this lightweight.

The Republicans don't need to make up stuff about Obama. The Democrats are doing an excellent job all by themselves.

FTFA: So Obama plays his race/cultural card against a friendly publication while many of his allies on the left dutifully follow his lead and condemn the piece because most of them fear that those of us who live out in flyover country "won't get" the satire.

As someone who lives in Michigan with numerous professional contacts here and in Ohio and Indiana, I can assure you that many people around here "won't get" the satire.

OMG! I heard Ayatollah Mahmoud Ahmedinejad issued a fatwa pronouncing the death sentence upon the cartoonist who drew some funny cartoon for the cover of the Joo York Times, because it might foil the secret conspiracy to put an undercover black Muslim in the White House! In fact, I read it on a very popular and widely read news aggregator site or blog or something like that on the Internet, so it's got to be true!

Gosh, I should add it to that list of facts about Balack HUSSEIN Obama (who took his oath of office on the family Quran, who refuses to salute the flag/say the Pledge of Allegiance/wear a flag lapel pin, whose wife is ashamed of America, etc.) and email it to EVERYBODY.

/not going to do it
//you just know somebody will
