Being from North Carolina, I am getting a kick out of these replies.

seriously though, even though he was a total racist, he was at least an honest total racist. He managed to make it his entire career without any sort of horrid scandal. I guess there is some sort of icing on almost every cake.

Meh, figured might as well try and get the thread off to a neutral or at least non-insult-hurling start...

...that lasted all of one post. Dude's dead now, he might as well get some rest. People want to discuss his politics, well, that's fair. But the dude's dead, and though he's not going to be hearing any of this, I'd rather it stay to discussion of the man, and not name-calling. Makes us all worse off for it.
