I recently heard a much more reasonable explanation, than "People's feet are popping off."

According to a journalist buddy of mine, these are the feet of people who failed to pay loan sharks who operate out of the nearby River Rock Casino. If you don't pay they won't kill you. Dead men can't pay debts. But amputees can!

The airplane theory seems pretty ridiculous to me. Are we to believe that people died, their feet were gnawed off by fish and no other portions of their bodies were found? If that were the case then why don't all nautical disasters result in nothing but feet being found.

Either cops think we are retarded or they actually are.
