Don't hate me, I voted for Nader.

On behalf of all Americans:

We're sorry about the Revolution. Can we get back in now?

I have a hunch that the feeling isn't mutual...

yippie another flame-war..............

The survey should have asked how they feel about France. Everyone hates the French.
2002-11-30 01:22:54 AM
"The moral to this story," he writes, is: "Don't believe everything you read in the Guardian."

truer words couldn't be said of this & all media.

P.S. & I like brits too.
2002-11-30 01:23:08 AM
I never understood international tensions with the average people of whatever country. I got a man from England right across the street, hes pretty cool.. got a motorcycle.. i mean, how can i hate him for that? i tried really hard. oh well.
2002-11-30 01:23:52 AM
i dont like the french, and thats based on no previous information on the culture at all, i have no reason to, but i do
2002-11-30 01:24:39 AM

How old's this article? Maybe the detractors are just noisier...
2002-11-30 01:25:06 AM

I think average people hate those of another country because they're different. Just like a kid in high school might hate a kid that goes to a different school. It involves the same level of maturity, at least.

70%+ of Britons are opposed to our current foreign policy, but more of them like us now than at any time in the past three decades? That doesn't seem too likely.
2002-11-30 01:27:47 AM
Scrotar: The article makes a distinction between the American people and the policies of their government. If you make the same distinction, you'll probably find that the detractors are critisizing government policies and not the people.

Well, apart from you being fat and stupid, of course.
2002-11-30 01:30:30 AM
British approval is the best kind.
2002-11-30 01:31:54 AM
I disapprove of the Brits' poor dental hygiene

OW - Who has time to read articles? Do you think health insurance grows on trees?
2002-11-30 01:34:33 AM
Bwahahaha! My health insurance is FREE!

Well, not really, I pay 35% income tax...
2002-11-30 01:34:54 AM
2002-11-30 01:35:21 AM
Well, let me just say I like the brits and I'm glad the feeling is mutual :). I'm not really a fan of our (the US's) government either.

Anyway, I like Chinese people but I'm not really a fan of their government. It's not really that incongruous of a policy.

Brits make Newcastle Brown Ale, so they're aces in my book.

The British make the best Comedy. Full of sly, dry wit, puns and clever innuendos. From Monty Python to Red Dwarf, you can't go wrong.

The Canadians make the most bizarre comedy. From the weird characterizations dreamed up by Myers and Carey, to the pushing-the-envelope antics of Kids in the Hall, to the grotesquely absurd Tom Green, you can't go wrong.

The Americans make the most low-brow comedy. Physical, loud, vulgar, extreme, and at times outright obnoxious. From the idiocy of the Wayans family to the high-pitched whelp of Chris Rock and the constant hollaring of Saturday Night Live (why are they yelling in 80% of their skits, anyway?) to the overly cheerful, whitebread Friends cult, you can, at times, go wrong. Oh so very wrong.
2002-11-30 01:48:58 AM
And we make them laugh...

The Brits like us? WOW! No... wait... lemme check.... Nope. Don't care.
/average American reaction
2002-11-30 01:54:23 AM
I like British people too. But I dont like the ones that just go off on Americans cause its the cool thing to do. Im convinced that a lot of the patriotic Brits in these flamewars dont know what the hell they are talking about when mentioning whatever it is that they think the US sucks at. They heard other, more intelligent people say it so they do the same. As if that one teenage UK farker knows anything about Bush's foreign policy. He knows that other farkers told him that it sucks.

Same goes for some of my countrymen also.

But anyway, all of a sudden, I really would like to go out with a girl with a British accent. That sounds hot. I dunno how that came up but who cares. Both countries have great women, and I'd rather discuss that then hear people nitpick and get pissy with each other about each countrys ups and downs. Right?
2002-11-30 02:00:49 AM
Yikes! If this is Brits liking us, what happens when they don't?
2002-11-30 02:04:43 AM
Yeah, I like Austin Powers. Oh, behave!

Bad form bringing SNL into it! That's just a tradition, we can't help it. And the Wayans brothers? Blech. How about good stuff, like Seinfeld or the Simpsons. And, you can go wrong with Tom Green. Horribly wrong.

Just don't forget that America was founded by the Puritans - a group of people too uptight for the British. Now they've decided that they (mostly) like us. That's cool.

They did produce all the berrer rock stars tho. Beatles, Stones, Who, The greatest ever: Led Zeppelin.

*TriXXX goes into duck and cover mode because of all the farkers that are going to come after her with with torches and pitchforks

I'm really too drunk now to form coherent sentences but I'll try.

I love the Brits. We're as lucky as any nation has ever been to have friends like them. Sure, we've had our disagreements (American Revolution, War of 1812) but shiat, we are who we are because of who we were. Rock and Roll may be an American invention but the Brits perfected it. Floyd, Zeppelin, The Who, The Beatles. Greatest bands in the history of rock.

While I'm at it. I love Canada. You guys rule. You're our friendly neighbors to the north and we're happy to share the continent with you. You call our president a moron, we make fun of how you say "about." It's all good. That and nobody can tell the difference between us.

Australia... how can I forget Australia? Sometimes I think we're as alike as two nations on opposite sides of the planet can can be. Americans just simply love Oz from the shiate stereotypes like the croc hunter to our mutual appreciation for sports which make people bleed.

Yea former British colonies (and the Brits too)! Here's to living in the land of milk and honey!

May God save the Queen, God Bless America, thank Christ for Australia, AND GO MAPLE LEAFS!!!

BIG thanks to the Brits!!! Especially the support when the worlds short sightedness gets in the way of the RIGHT thing to do, (ax Saddam).

TriXXX, our country wasn't founded by Puritans, only a few New England states were.
