2008-06-12 10:50:09 AM
So now we use two empty coconut halves instead of horses?

FTFA:The Irish airline Aer Lingus has set up a pilot program dubbed "Aer Flingus" for sending passengers from Dublin to London

I lol'd. As a medievalist, I will be getting a kick out of these replies.

What's the matter subby, too good to use the more appropriate Fark user image tag?

~Would have saved me the trouble of clicking the link.

We only burn things that weigh as much as a duck.

2008-06-12 11:03:24 AM
okay okay okay we did the nose, and the hat, but but she's still a witch! burn her!

Shhhhhhhhh. I love these threads precisely because of that. If you don't give it away, you're always going to get at least one dumbass who will show up without reading TFT who didn't know it was satire. Don't spoil my fun.

"What other things also float?"

"Very small rocks?"

within the next few years i see everyone use a hoover mobile horse carriage or a just a horse

BBSpot is definitely not allowed to use the "satire" tag. If there was a god, BBSpot would not be allowed to use the "amusing" tag either.

The "FARKTV" tag is the appropriate tag to use.

2008-06-12 2:01:11 PM
Nice. So instead of paying by the gallon, we could pay by the pound, since it takes more counterweight to send Fatty McCheeseburgerson downtown from the 'burbs.

2008-06-12 2:01:26 PM
WarpZone: ugh is that site ever funny?

Apparently funnyt is unimportant, as every time I point out that an article from BBSpot is not funny, someone informs me that he was able to quit his job and do the Web thing full time.

2008-06-12 2:01:55 PM
OK
Well, they are going to hell anyhow. We're simply...giving them front row seat for the trip

WTF?

...They chose Albany for this? 'High density of [Ren Faire] attendees'? Please... At least pick on a state that is better known for its Faire, like AZ or something.

I've been using the Jewish approach - Christian baby's blood as a gas additive. It smokes a bit but really boosts the mileage.

2008-06-12 2:04:54 PM
How badass would tt be to get flung to work by trebuchet?

2008-06-12 2:05:02 PM
Seriously that is the best they can come up w/? I was expecting them to figure out some alchemal way to produce quality fuel and I get trebuchets.

/fail

Obviously a BS report but that last line made it worth reading.

This is my idea. I posted this on Fark weeks ago in a gas thread. BBSpot probably got this idea from reading my post on Fark. Now, if you'll excuse me, gym, yeah, 26 minutes, gotta go.

"Upon what do we burn witches?"

"More witches!"

I really don't think you understand the word "amusing"
/at least the comments in this thread are funny though

studebaker hoch: How much biodiesel can we get out of a witch?

Depends on the size of your reactor and the ratio of methoxide you use.

/Yes, I make biodiesel
//Yes, it's cheap
///Yes, I go to the Ren faire
////Yes, this is too many slashies

There's video of BASE jumpers that launch themselves in the air with what is essentially a massive slingshot, then safely open their chutes. I'm not entirely sure a trebunchet would get someone in the air high enough to open their chute properly, but then again, when's the last time I've seen someone using a trebunchet for something *other than* a pumpkin?

studebaker hoch: How much biodiesel can we get out of a witch?

Depends upon which witch, pretty much from Rosie O'Donell.

/prolly a few gallons from Stevie Nicks too.

Perhaps we could rely on even older technology to alleviate pain at the gas pumps?

It's called "walking".

And, Lo, verily bbSpot quoth "Wouldst that our comical entreaties were as sweet as thine, SuperDeluxe."

"Decola said that the group's computer trajectory analyzers and advanced wind speed monitoring system result in most passengers landing within five feet of their designated safe landing area"

I have to ask a really stupid question. I am trying to visualize people being catapulted through the air to where they work. How do they not get injured. This seems like something out of Monty Python or something.

It just seems really unbelievable that people would not get injured. There has to be video on this.

2008-06-12 2:15:55 PM
Isn't a horse still cheaper than a trebuchet?

"There are ways of telling whether she is a witch."

Do they hurt?
