(CNN)   Members of the press whine about getting a free plane ride; make some noise about being promised an interview with Obama, then being told Obama wasn't on board after the plane took off. Wussies   (cnn.com) divider line

One campaign aide said he asked not to be told what was going on so that he "wouldn't have to lie."

Ladies and gentlemen, your next attorney general.

Ron Paul would never be in that situation because NOBODY WANTS TO HEAR WHAT HE HAS TO SAY outside of his small cult.

Maybe we should do this to ALL the media.
Just start slowly telling them about interviews and then flying them to Mexico.

Hey, "members of the press," you should really blame "members of the press" for the deception, since "members of the press" are notoriously untrustworthy slime ball buttinskies. If Obama had told "members of the press" that he was having a one on one meeting with Clinton, but would appreciates it if "members of the press" didn't surround the house 24-7 and try to interrogate any person going in and out of the house, and try to sneak a picture through the blinds or slip a microphone inside, or...etc., then guess what "members of the press" would have done? Made the whole fkn thing a ridiculous media circus.

"Members of the press," should really blame "members of the press" for making it necessary to dupe "members of the press."

This is like telling a four year old that Santa is not coming. Poor media, their latest darling snubbed them. Go sit in the corner until you can start being objective in this years race.

/I don't know who loves Obama more, fan boy farkers or the MSM.

A republican farker's views of reporting on candidates.

The news story: Is Obama the anti-christ? We'll give you both sides of the story.

Farker response: Both sides? The media's so deep in Obama's pocket, you're drinking the kool-aid if you think he's not the anti-christ.

The news story: Hillary says something incredibly stupid, kicks puppy. We'll discuss how this effects the growing belief that Obama is the anti-christ.

Farker response: This just proves what we've always said about Bill Clinton, it's about time the liberals woke up.

News Story: War Hero John "POW" McCain seen mumbling today about how our business in Vietnam isn't finished, what a maverick! Truely his insight is beyong reproach. He's so folksy!

Farker response: I'm so sick of these smears against McCain! The media is all lined up against him! Why just several months ago I saw a single news paper addressing his links to lobbyists! It's a Liberal conspiracy!

Really?

This is a mystery to those in the press corps?

REALLY?

On the same day Dennis Kucinich introduces articles of impeachment Barack Obama has a bunch of "mysterious meetings" in Washington?

This is what constitutes for journalism nowadays??

Whatever happened to contacts at the Capitols, interns on payrolls? Meetings in dark parking garages?? Jeez...it's like they're not even trying anymore.

They're reporters assigned to cover Obama's campaign. That's their job. McCain has reporters assigned to him too.

Obama-fawning liberal media pwn3d by Obama's campaign staff. Priceless.

Wow, points to Obama. That's pretty damn funny. Of course, the media is so temperamental that this could come back to haunt him further down the line.

Nevertheless, gotta admit that whatever else I think about him, he has my respect for this stunt.

not sure if you're trolling, untalented, or both. there is not exactly a huge mccain lovefest going on here. fact is, most farkers tend to associate the man with pancakes.

i don't blame obama for trying to shake these reporters. of course it's important to have a free press. that doesn't mean that 90% of journalists aren't douchenozzles who'd be better off left on the ISS (or adjacent to it).

Change we can believe in and a press corps we can ditch when they are inconvenient.

First, props to Obama for a pretty funny tactic. It doesn't strike me as very wrong, and in any event, the reporters got a free flight out of the deal.

/snicker

Second, props to Decados for a pretty funny line:

Ron Paul would never be on a plane in the first place because air travel is not mentioned specifically in the Constitution.

Wolf Blitzer called this the best story he has ever seen and went pretty ecstatic the day after. I was doubtful but stayed on to the last few minutes on The Situation Room to catch them talking about this.

I can say, CNN's story about CNN (and MSNBC and Fox) running around trying to find Obama and Clinton (and failing miserably) was pretty farking hilarious.

I love it when the media is fooled.
