All of those ingredients sound good me, but if combined they would make me hurl.

I made these cookies last month, and most of my guests liked them.

I added dark rum to the glaze, and it was delish on the cookies.

Don't knock it till you've tried it!

Bacon Chocolate-Chip Cookies With Maple-Cinnamon Glaze

"So, first you bake the bacon?"
"No, you cook bacon."
"Why would they call it bacon if you don't bake it?"
"It's just a name."
"OK, I'll try and remember. First you cook the bacon."
"Yes!"
"Then you cook the cookies?"
"No, you bake cookies."
"Wait . . . you bake cookies, but you cook bacon? Now you're just screwing with my head."

Being from maple country, I take exception to this. Not because you're diluting bacon with maple, but because maple syrup - *true* maple syrup - is truly wonderful, and few things are worthy complements for it. Bacon is one such item.

/Now, on to grilled English muffins and orange marmalade...

2008-04-18 7:04:01 PM
"Where'd you get the bacon for these wonderful cookies?"

"There was this machine in the men's room. All you had to do was press a button and you received bacon!"

I still don't understand the fuss about bacon. If we are going to pick a food that is violently unhealthy for us but tastes so good that is causes illegal drug-like side effects to the body/brain... I vote for:

CHEESECAKE

/with strawberry sauce
//its calling me
///I must obey

In the history of teh interwebs, there has never been a more appropriate link that deserved the hero tag. Not. Once. Ever.

I like to cut my bacon into 4-inch strips and slow cook it. That way it doesn't get too dry or too crispy, and I get to watch it cook and smell the bacon smell. Then I like to put it on a paper napkin and press out some of the grease. Then I like to hide in my closet and eat each piece slowly, so I can savor the taste. Then I like to smoke a cigarette.

Sorry, as heretic as this may sound,

Chocolate + Bacon = Fail.

http://www.chocolateobsession.com/2007/06/review_vosges_bacon_bar.htm

This person thinks otherwise, but I wan't too impressed with it. It's either the Milk Chocolate (usually Fail on many aspects, vs. Dark anyway) or bacon amount (too much or too little). But the sum was not greater than its parts.

Bacon is good with brown sugar though... Pork is always good sweet than savory.
