Sad thing is though, even with a contract with Satan, they probably won't even make the playoffs.
2001-08-09 09:41:54 AM
I wonder if he's related to Gaylord Focker.
2001-08-09 09:48:00 AM
No, but he has a teammate named Mike Peca.
2001-08-09 09:49:10 AM
i have a Black Away-game Satan jersey
gets alot of funny looks, other NHL players with funny last names:
Radek Bonk
Ron Tugnutt
2001-08-09 09:54:12 AM
Heh, I picked up the same jersey last time I was in Buffalo, it's a great thing to have down here in Dallas.. :)
2001-08-09 09:55:18 AM
Now, if the guy only played for the Devils...
2001-08-09 10:00:52 AM
LOL, that's funny Junkeez...I always wondered if Buffalo people shiat themselvbes every time they find out they have to play a Dallas team for some championship...

Reminds me though, I need to pick up a Stars sweater, they hace CCMs here in Florida for $75. Just what I need since my neighbor works for the Panthers...It'll match my Dat Nguyen Cowboy's jersey quite nicely...

2001-08-09 10:07:51 AM
I will play for your team in exchange for 3.25 million dollars.. AND YOUR IMMORTAL SOUL!!!!

2001-08-09 10:09:15 AM
"The deal also stipulates that Satan will receive two first born sons and a 3rd round draft pick."
2001-08-09 10:11:17 AM
it would have been even better if the refs wouldn't have been lazy and just decided to give the Stars the series after the 5th overtime
2001-08-09 10:13:20 AM
Migettossa: He *had* a teammate named Mike Peca - he got traded to the Islanders (argh). He shoulda been a Ranger.
2001-08-09 10:16:27 AM
I like the link to Yahoo Sports- the directory for his stats is 6/666.
2001-08-09 10:30:19 AM
Satan - is that a *common* czech name??

-= rei =-
2001-08-09 10:31:45 AM
Wonder if the contract was signed in blood??
2001-08-09 10:50:56 AM
I don't know if it's common, but I've only heard it pronounced "suh-TAHN"
2001-08-09 11:05:10 AM
Slippy: D'oh! I'm still playing NHL 2K for dreamcast...
Bug: I've been looking for a Satan Jersey forever...do I have to go to Buffalo to get one?

Wouldn't it be cool if his first name was Lucifer...or Dark-Prince-of-Evil...or boobies!
2001-08-09 11:05:33 AM
I bet he has a cool helmet.
2001-08-09 11:08:16 AM
sniker: he did play for the devils

Mike Peca and Ron Tugnutt should "play" together on the Oilers
2001-08-09 11:24:37 AM
Word up, Bug..! No goal!! :) Midgettossa, you don't HAVE to go to Buffalo to get one, you can always visit http://shop.sabres.com, go to the Jerseys section and customize one with Satan's name and number on it.

However, I would highly recommend going to Buffalo to get one, because while you're there, you can also pick up some delicious roast beef on kimmelweck from Anderson's Roast Beef, some tasty Empire apples, some damn fine chicken wings or chicken fingers, birch beer, Tim Horton's donuts, and many of the other great things they just don't have down here in Dallas. :)
2001-08-09 11:33:38 AM
Bug & Jinkeez: good lookin out guys...I shall adorn myself with the name and number of the beast.
2001-08-09 11:35:33 AM
He never played for the Devils. Only the Oilers and the Sabres. And the Sabres suck. That "No Goal" bullshiat is so far in the past, yet none of you idiot Sabres' fans have anything else to rally around. Probably because they've never been close to winning a cup. get over it already.
2001-08-09 11:41:33 AM
it's nice to know that the NHL rules are "flexible"
2001-08-09 11:42:08 AM
Hey Slippy - LETS GO RANGERS !!!!

A 4-year curse is enough I think....
2001-08-09 11:45:16 AM
FOUR year curse? I'm looking at one that's lasted seven years! But hey, at least Sather hasn't decided to tear apart the roster this year and get rid of all the young talent for a bunch of washouts. Neil Smith should be drawn and quartered...
2001-08-09 11:52:41 AM
Is Jack Chick aware of this?
2001-08-09 11:58:14 AM
Skwidd: Getting closer, anyway - Weight was a really good pickup for them. Maybe he could loan Keith Tkachuk a couple of vowels, too.
2001-08-09 12:22:44 PM
I always thought Satan deserved more money for his work!
2001-08-09 12:32:45 PM
Pronounced Shu-tan
2001-08-09 12:36:11 PM
SatansLittleHelper sure, because you think you'll get a raise, right?
2001-08-09 12:48:29 PM
Guess hell froze over.

"Satan on Ice"
2001-08-09 12:58:07 PM
Nice to see a few Blues fans on the boards.

Any other farkers have season tix or plan on attending NHL games in cities near them?
2001-08-09 01:18:35 PM
Petition to bring back Keenan? Anyone?

What would do the team the best is to be bought out. But who can compete with Cablevision... stoopid corporate farkers.

I would've hung myself had they got Lindros or Jagr.

It's ALL about money but hey.. that's New York

Oh yeah - the SEVEN year curse... sans Messier and with Colin Campbell and Muckler... UGGHHH

Any rumors if Theo was a pothead or alcoholic? Enquiring Ranger fans want to know.

Hey Slippy.. you from NY?
2001-08-09 01:26:08 PM
Muckler wasn't a bad coach, he just had a shiatty team to work with at times. But he wasn't a good coach, either. Personally, I would've been glad to see Jagr in a Ranger sweater, but would've hated to see York go - he's a good one! I'm still worried about Sather potentially trading away too much for farking Lindros; he's dumber than a bag of doorknobs. Argh.

Hopefully Fleury will be back playing well again. Don't know what he was on, but it's nice to see that he's doing better. Always been a favorite of mine...

And FYI, AcYD, I'm from NJ. Screw the Devils.
2001-08-09 01:56:06 PM
Are you the real Chris Pronger?

I'm flying up to Alaska to watch the Blues take on the Sharks in a pre-season game.

I'm not sure the Blues really improved their team all that much. It's nice to get Weight and Keane, but we gave up a lot. Problems with goaltending still unresolved.
2001-08-09 02:02:47 PM
and if you click on his bio, the url is 6/666/
2001-08-09 02:10:16 PM
Jdrew00: Are you the real J.D. Drew? :)

St. Louis still has *definite* goaltending problems - not huge ones, but still problems. I forgot about them picking up Keane, that's a great move; Pronger's a good captain, I think, but Keane's got experience to match his leadership.

Would've been better if they'd kept Turgeon *and* gotten Weight, but it'd also be damned expensive.

*sigh* The list of quality players the Rangers have given up over the years just kills me...Weight...Amonte...Kovalev (why the fark couldn't he produce like that in NY?!?!?!)...
2001-08-09 02:23:38 PM
If I were the REAL JD Drew, I'd be touching a lot more boobies!
2001-08-09 02:28:22 PM
Jdrew00: BAHAHAH!!! I thought he was a bit of a religious nut, though?
2001-08-09 02:36:15 PM
Bug- the rules are flexible every game. Just look at the number of penalties that are called during regulation versus those that are called in OT. I don't think they blew the call, but I can see where some Sabres' fans would think they did. Believe me, being that Buffalo is the "local team" here, I've had this argument many times and I can never seem to win it:) I just wish they would stop whining about it, that's all.
2001-08-09 02:38:51 PM
Watcher: What do you do in Rochester? I used to live there - did my undergrad and grad school at the U of R.

They'll never stop whining, by the way, because whining is a way of life up there sometimes.
2001-08-09 02:45:57 PM
God loves boobies, JD loves God, thus JD loves boobies too.
2001-08-09 02:50:46 PM
Or better still: I love boobies, JD loves God, I AM GOD, so JD loves boobies.
2001-08-09 03:15:08 PM
Slippy:I work for Johnson and Johnson (actually Ortho Clinical Diagnostics) as a scientist in assay development. I went to RIT and kinda got stuck here. You're right, whining is pretty rampant around here. I can't stand the whole "we can do that too" attitude of the locals whenever a big city does something cool. While downtown becomes deserted at 5:30. Hypocrites.
