And he still probably did less damage than those homoerotic pledges that wrecked their hotel room a few weekes back.

Generally I dislike frat boys but what the hell, it's spring break. Go crazy, frat boy.

even frat boys couldn't pull off something with that much win.

Relax, fellow Repeat-Nazis. This is not the dorm room explosives balcony guy from earlier today. Stand down, false alarm.

Fark frats hard.

1. Farkers drink...alot.

2. Farkers look down on the rest of society because they know they are better than them.

3. Farkers verbally haze each other, especially new farkers.

4. Farkers combine their resources to throw occasional parties.

It couldn't have been much of a hotel if the total damage from the dynamite was only $2000. Must have been occupied by Earl Hickey types.

College explosives trifecta in play?!

2008-03-21 5:25:08 PM
The hotel also told Eyewitness News they're getting calls from worried guests from across the country who have reservations and are now concerned about their safety.

They're afraid their special little snowflakes will melt. Isn't that precious.

Subby must not have read, or checked out the pics, from the article. Nowhere was a frat mentioned.

Reading comprehension and/or ability surrenders to sensationalism. Subby should check for a job at Fox.

not to add to the stereotype but on my only college spring break i was 20, and was accidentally stamped 21 at a bar named Sharkies (i think). I still have the Shark-a-Tube, but the only thing i remember is buying the first one.

But now that I'm an adult....I feel very bad for the scared family.

Bechtel told police Romano had detonated a partial stick of dynamite while he and Bolt acted as lookouts

I don't remember M-80s being THAT powerful ;)

Reporters are notoriously bad at getting/giving correct information on explosives, and it doesn't help that most cops don't know WTF they are talking about either.

I seriously doubt they had real dynamite so it probably was a flash powder salute. The whole M80 = 1/4 stick of dynamite, blockbuster = 1/2 stick thing is all crap. The original M80s were military fire simulators, anything else is just using the name and there are no standards for how much is in what. And none of them are remotely close to a stick of dynamite, now matter how small that stick happens to be (some are 2" diameter and a meter long, or larger).

when i was a frat boy, someone narrowly stopped me from dropping a fullsize (empty) keg from a 2nd floor indoor balcony. To this day, i don't know why i thought that would've been a cool thing to do.

Actually, I know the area they're talking about, but I've never been in the hotel. It's a nice looking place from the outside and in a pretty good area. It was one that had to rebuild from the hurricanes in '04, so that might be why it's a relatively low price. It probably just didnt do as much damage as it sounds like, IMO
