Insane? They're in a protected rock pool. It's no different than standing at the edge of a cliff and looking down over the fence.

Pocket Ninja: It's no different than standing at the edge of a cliff and looking down over the fence.

Yeah... but that's farking insane as well.

I might do it, but if there were kids around I would probably just go insane worrying every time they moved.

2008-03-06 11:31:51 AM
That's cool as hell. I'm not good w/ heights though. Just looking at those pics made me feel uneasy.

2008-03-06 11:35:16 AM
I've done this.

The being in the pool part is easy. It's the getting there that's a biatch. If the water is at all high you have to dive in upcurrent, catch a mosssy rock. Dive off that and gun it for a big flat rock. Then jump in the pool.

When I did it the two batshiat crazy black guys who showed me the way said "wow white people never do that"

2008-03-06 11:36:39 AM
Oh and once you're in the pool it's fine because it's five feet deep and there's only a trickle going over the edge.

2008-03-06 11:41:02 AM
Puh! Try this on the Canuckian side of Niagara Falls!!
If the fall don't kill ya, the cold will.

I'm good with heights.

I'm a former climber, still freak people out by standing on the edge of overlooks.

Yet, watching this gave me vertigo. Must be the addition of water that sets off my "something ain't right" alarms.

That is one of the most incredible things I've ever seen. I could not believe that people would put their kids right there. That is truly insane.

jamminatorr!: I might do it, but if there were kids around I would probably just go insane worrying every time they moved.

Now, if I were there, and someone brought kids, I would sit on shore with my camera, waiting hopefully.

there's a few holes in your VERY terse assessment:

1) You can't visually see the edge of THIS cliff. Yes, there's a rock barrier underneath the current, but for all your eyes know, you're already beyond the point of no return.

2) A cliff is a 10,000 year old ugly ass rock formation shaped by time. A waterfall, over one of the highest in the world no less, has more kinetic energy around it than a rocket to mars. And you can TOUCH IT WITH YOUR SKIN.

3) Unless the cliff is windy, it ain't gonna push you over like the water current can for that lady leaning backward.

That's kind of crazy but the other day I saw video of a dude jumping from a plane with no chute. He jumped with buddies, and after some freefall he went into a totally ghey bear hug with one of them and he opened his chute and down they went.

He was wearing a t-shirt and I'm 90% certain it was for real. Blew my mind. It was on TV but I don't remember what program I saw it on though. I'm sure the video is on teh intartubes somewhere.
