yes, I agree. if we split the country in half, and all was equal ( equal access to shipping ports, farm land, etc ) I wonder which half would do better, the one that support free market capitalism, or the one the supports a huge, government controlled Socialist-style system ?

me thinks that history has provided the answer but it would be fun to watch certain people learn the hard way.

I would have to say neither. Free market capitalism always leads to a revolution because it doesn't provide for everyone.

And the "Government controlled Socialist-style system" shows you have no idea what you are talking about. Socialism is the idea that businesses should be operated for the common good, and should be regulated by the government, but not controlled. There is still a profit incentive, since only the essential industries (farming, education, medicine) are stricltly controlled. Everything else is pretty much indistingushable from Capitalism except for the higher prioritazation of workers' rights. Communism, on the other hand, is controlled, and fails mostly because the people in charge have no idea what is required.

So again, you fail to know what you are talking about and only listen to other people who have no idea what they are talking about, creating an echo chamber of ignorance.

And for you thinking that lasizze faire capitalism is all gravy, most of the world would like a word with you. And if you think to compare communism with socialism (again), then you fail again. They aren't the same in the same sense that free market capitalism isn't anarchy. They are similar (I guess) in that they have similar elements, but they are not the same.

And like I said, if you split America in equal parts in terms of resources, both would fail. Because both systems you describe are not viable and history has proven it. You continue to cling to a failed system because you had it ok under it and are afraid of rocking the boat.

And if a split ever happened in America, I have a feeling that it would be over religion, and not economics. Once a good chunk of the stupid are weeded out, we probably would stop hearing this crap about how great anarchy and free market capitalism is.

Anti-religion, anti-free markets, anti-personal liberty and freedom. Pro-big-all controling central Government, Pro-Political correct speech, etc.

Okay... both of you guys are wrong here, not about the Nazis. The GOP is far from the Nazi regime. However, most Liberals are not Anti-Religion, they are very pro-religion with the proviso that it does not infest our government and create complications between are ethnically and religiously diverse populations. Most Liberals are not against the Free Market, they just believe that the Free market is less important than human rights, which it necessarily clashes with. Which party is currently in control of White House? Which party likes wiretapping, keeping prisoners longer than it's legal without a lawyer in this land of the free, and which party has passed the largest breech of Civil Liberties (patriot act) since the Vietnam era? As for big government, there has not been a single President for more than fifty years that has cut spending on government, in fact, almost all of them have raised it (GWB and Clinton being the two worst offenders since Roosevelt). Liberals only want, in regards to politically correct speech, to resist racist impulses, but they take it too far rather consistently I will agree.
