Hi, I'm Chris Hanson.
Can I see your homework?

School employees can touch students only when the student poses a threat to another student or to themselves.

No pat on the shoulder? No arm around a crying child?
Something is very, very wrong.

Back in the day we were on a field trip and $75 went missing, teacher told us all to strip down. While the guys were generally excited the girls were pretty pissy and lead the revolt. I bet one of them took it anyway. Well, we all resisted, and were told we'd all be suspended and interviewed by the police when we got back. First thing that happened when we got back was a girl telling the principal Mrs. Shultz told her to get naked. Never saw Mrs. Shultz again. biatch left us with her hamster. We didn't even want a class pet.

Normally I'd just say "search the black kid", but since this happened at "Martin Luther King Elementary" maybe that would be a bit more challenging than it sounds.

I can't believe this would happen in Hopkinsville. I mean, not Hopkinsville!

Sorry, munchy, I missed your comment on my first scan of the thread.

Why aren't they all being tried as sex offenders? That seems to be the "in" thing to do.

So the cops can come in to your kids school with search dogs and guns drawn on a tip for drugs but you can't have kids dump out their pockets? The little damn snowflakes have too much protection, there needs to be more ass kicking and less ass coddling.

This is status quo for public school district tho, I feel more amongst my peers in the drooling veggie "classrooms" than I do at a board meeting, not sure if it is less stupidity or just a more tolerable form.
2008-02-26 10:10:38 PM
Nice excuse to feel up some pre-teen naughty parts... But, $20 would have been more believable.... $5 just sounds perverted and cheap!
2008-02-26 10:12:37 PM

This "ass coddling" you mention, it intrigues me.
2008-02-26 10:13:53 PM
only a pedophile would pat down an entire 3rd grade class. What a sicko!
2008-02-26 10:14:01 PM
If you ever drop a five dollar bill in a third grade classroom, let it go, because man, it's gone.
2008-02-26 10:18:47 PM
That's a lot of 3rd grade patting for only 5 bucks. Some lucky pedophile got off cheap.
2008-02-26 10:20:16 PM
Did the teachers pat each other down, too? Because I only work with adults, and the shiat that goes missing in our offices is amazing.

My staple puller? Really? Goddamn thieves the lot of 'em.

I get the feeling this is going to end up costing a lot more than $5.
2008-02-26 10:22:27 PM
Maybe children don't like to learn anymore because they hate going to prison everyday.
2008-02-26 10:23:34 PM

methinks we've found our thieving snowflake...

Did the teachers make the sex offender list? This is prime sex offender list material here. Right up there with those insidious benign hugs.
2008-02-26 10:25:36 PM
While the pat downs may or may not have been going too far I think the cavity search by Principal Slippyfist McColdhands was way over the line.
2008-02-26 10:25:39 PM
MrLint: Can you realistically find a piece of paper by patting someone down?

That was just preliminary to the cavity search.
2008-02-26 10:25:48 PM
Yes but did they get the 5 dollars back?
2008-02-26 10:27:03 PM
No Child left behind education, not only lowers standards for our children but for teachers and school administrators as well. Private schools will suffer equally in time when we have no educated people to instruct our children, rich or poor.

MrLint: Can you realistically find a piece of paper by patting someone down?

Vincent: Have you ever given a pat-down?
Jules: [scoffs] Don't be tellin' me about pat-down's. I'm the pat-down farkin' master.
Vincent: Given a lot of 'em?
Jules: shiat yeah. I got my technique down and everything, I don't be ticklin' or nothin'.
Vincent: Would you give a guy a pat-down?
Jules: fark you.
Vincent: You give them a lot?
Jules: fark you.
Vincent: You know, I'm getting kinda tired. I could use a pat-down myself.
Jules: Man, you best back off, I'm gittin' a little pissed here.
2008-02-26 10:31:10 PM

Very nice
2008-02-26 10:31:25 PM
The teacher pocketed the five herself.

MrLint: Can you realistically find a piece of paper by patting someone down?

That was my question too.
2008-02-26 10:34:05 PM
In sixth grade, some kid was crying about losing.....85 cents. So the teacher makes us pull out our pockets,no one had it (how you identify pocket change, I don't know,it was before lunch, everyone had change). When no one had it, she made us take off our shoes. I don't know how far it would have gone on, because just then, the idiot kid, when asked when he lost it, said "yesterday". The teacher had a look on her face I'll never forget.

I remember telling my parents about it in passing at the dinner table. My father was pissed. He wasn't one of those protect the children parents, most of the time, he sided with the school/teachers. That's the time I first started to really learn about my rights.
2008-02-26 10:35:34 PM
2008-02-26 10:36:12 PM
I'm betting that the teacher neglected to mention that a few hours later she found the $5 exactly where she'd forgotten she moved it.
2008-02-26 10:36:34 PM
"They are sweeping this under the carpet," Crosslin said.

-and that's a great place to hide a 5 dollar bill.

You don't pat an 8 yr old for $5. You choke it out of them.
2008-02-26 10:43:08 PM

That brings up an interesting question. Do high school teachers keep in mind that their authority over students changes when the student turns 18 and in loco parentis no longer applies? I'd be amused to see how they deal with a student who's legally uncooperative with the schools administrative shenanigans.
