OlafTheBent: Wasn't that a Mentos commercial?

yeah, this is the second green for this and no mentos reference in the headline. pathetic

I vote for this one for the sheer fact that it's more or less what actually happened.

Did some skinny, annoying jackass run up and tell them not to drop the weights?

2008-02-12 3:40:28 PM
The men heaved the car from the six-foot deep ditch in a matter of minutes, then went back to the gym.

Six-foot deep? That's not a ditch, that's more like a trench. I'd like to know how big/heavy the car was.

That's all the story was? Just a couple of paragraphs?

Still kind of a fun story though. But energy drinks? That's it?

Wow, the whole article fit in the Fark headline.

My friend and I picked up the back of a ford festiva, it must have weighed close to 78 pounds.

Wonder if they had to wait 26 minutes for the last guy to show up.

2008-02-12 3:58:35 PM
Woah, that was a short article. Makes me wonder if it's fake.

Any Bonehead: That's all the story was? Just a couple of paragraphs?

That's not a couple of paragraphs.

That's 3 sentences.

A paragraph is multiple sentences.

Bodybuilders? Unlikely.

This was clearly done by powerlifters, who immediatley went back to their squat and deadlift routines.

Did they drop it as loudly as possible, then rub their nipples through their underarmour while surreptitiously trying to see if the cute chick on the treadmill looks over?

Of course it is. "Body Builders" are pussies.

Now if it had said Power Lifters, that'd be another story. All together now.

My massive, uncut muscles. Let me show them to you.

Back in High School (1978), we borrowed my sister's Honda Civic and ended up with a flat on the right rear. Three of us picked up the rear end while the fourth changed the tire.

My bouncer buddies at the club I used to DJ at used to love taking my Dodge Omni and spinning it 180 degrees when I parked it on the street.

They weren't very bright, but they were big boys.

When I was in high school, some football players put my Isuzu I-Mark on a concrete medium. Wheels were on pavement, but the body was straddling the concrete.

Fortunately, two members of the weight lifting team gave me a hand.

The inverted pyramid of journalism dictates that the 5 W's should be answered by the first, or at most, second paragraph.

Let's see:

Who - No names, nope
What - I guess so
When - Nope
Where - Nope
Why - Well, sort of

Survey says: Not journalism.

secretagentwang: Did some skinny, annoying jackass run up and tell them not to drop the weights?

Dropping the weights is only done by the attention whores to begin with. Actually saw a guy drop a barbell once and snapped the weights off at the securing bolt due to the way it landed. Gym owner made him buy a new one.

Another annoyance is guys who hunt for the straightest bar (not bent) in the gym only to load it with 500+ lbs to do dead lifts....and end up bending it too.
