"People are completely obsessed by it, but it is a healthy madness."

That reads like a masters thesis on moon crapping.

It's a "hobbit-forming" addiction...
2002-10-23 10:05:00 AM
I can't get into the hobbit stuff.

Sorta off topic:
Was the muppet chef Norwegian or Swedish?

is there nothing a GIS can't do?

Backgroundnoise: is there nothing a GIS can't do?

Yes, but beer pretty much covers the rest, unless you're in Norway where beer costs about £4.50 ($6US) a pint. What a nightmare. No wonder they spend all their time getting anal about Tolkein.
2002-10-23 10:14:09 AM
Alterian, Backgroundnoise, thanks good thing I didn't try and make a wacky joke about Norwegian's using a swedish dude.
2002-10-23 10:14:51 AM
Jesus - two weeks in the snow dressed up like a goblin? Is this some kind of new winter sport?
2002-10-23 10:15:17 AM

On a side note, Gauge and Karl Malone have the same birthday, which is the same day as mine. Maybe I can use that to convince her we were meant to be together.

2002-10-23 10:21:05 AM
two words: "Hobbit tossing" - it's not just a sport...
2002-10-23 10:21:48 AM
MrVeach:- Are they the Fellowship of the Ring?
2002-10-23 10:22:50 AM
yeah, Jay_vee, the ...COCK...ring!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA ok i am dumb.
2002-10-23 10:22:59 AM
and those rings change sizes depending on who's using them too!
2002-10-23 10:23:29 AM
This isn't news. The village has been around for centuries. It's called Oslo.
2002-10-23 10:24:18 AM
jesus jesus jesus. we are all a bunch of dumbasses.
2002-10-23 10:26:25 AM
wooden shoes, wooden head - ah hell, you know the rest of the line.
2002-10-23 10:38:18 AM
Awwwww, let 'em be, fokls. They're not hurting anyone, and their co-workers must just love the uber-nerd-less atmoshpere and be wishing said hobbits never come back.

I, on the other hand, will just book my ticket online, and hate everyone who sees it before I do.
2002-10-23 10:42:32 AM
*this oughtta get things going*

I fell asleep when we rented LOtR, about a month ago.
2002-10-23 10:44:41 AM
You should all be ashamed for even knowing who Gauge is. What would your mothers think!? :-D

Gee, I wonder if "Gauge" is a stage name? Maybe the childhood trauma of being named after a piece of steam fitting drove her into the pr0n business...

2002-10-23 10:50:16 AM
No Such, I have read somwhere her name is actually Sally Gauge.

I have no idea whatsoever if this is correct. However, I'd most certainly hit it!
2002-10-23 10:52:27 AM
I'm a huge Tolkein fan, and I'd probably be in a line like this one too if it wasn't for the fact that I have a life!
2002-10-23 10:53:18 AM

I think the phrase "stage name" is a bit of a stretch for some of these "actresses", but at least there's a site nice enough to give me a shopping list.
2002-10-23 10:59:39 AM
Hitting Gauge while watching The Two Towers? Count me in!
2002-10-23 11:00:44 AM
Not that I know who Gauge is. And what's this Two Towers all you nerds keep talking about?

2002-10-23 11:01:18 AM
That's not fair, why do they get to see it so much sooner than we do? We have to wait until the end of December.
2002-10-23 11:04:40 AM
i remember this shiat from Willow
2002-10-23 11:08:31 AM
Mountain, you bring the Gauge, I'll bring the Towers, and we've got ourselves a fine evening's entertainment!
2002-10-23 11:18:23 AM
I believe the correct grammer for that would be "hitting it with Gauge"
2002-10-23 11:36:50 AM
Why "Dumbass"?
It's just a bunch of nerds getting together for a laugh, why are people so pissy about this?
2002-10-23 11:40:25 AM
VonEvilstein: Color me there.

Rudezombie: Good point. I sounded like a skank beater there.

"I fell asleep when we rented LOtR, about a month ago."

The first 1/3 of LOTR it is rather slow. Next part is going to be bloody, the one after even more so. Judging the whole movie based on 1/3 of it is kinda dumb.

2002-10-23 04:09:01 PM
Who the heck is this Gauge? Is there something I missed?

Anyway, I'm waiting for the next Harry Potter movie more than I'm waiting for TTT.

(Wait, strike that. The Two Towers has Ents. Ents are cool.)
2002-10-23 09:44:33 PM
Hey! I don't think it's dumb..I'm not that obssessed, but I call myself a fan..of the movies anyway. The books are pretty boring.
