You don't need any goddamn report. Ask any NCO serving right now. It is falling apart.

Or ask any Major or light bird.

Besides subby you have to know the WaPo has been polishing this administration's knob (with a few exceptions) since day one.

Let me guess - James Taranto?

I don't even need to click it to know that this is pie in the sky insanity.

You mean an unwinnable indefinite engagement with no clear enemies, lots of domestic opposition, constant news articles floating up about veterans getting screwed out of benefits, politicians using the troops as bargaining chips, and watching the next war looming large with an even bigger promise of clusterfarkery?

Yeah. Can't see why the army is cracking apart like it was in Vietnam.

MasterThief: Meanwhile, back at the ranch...

Brother, please. Don't even give me those revised downward and lower standards numbers saying all is well bullshiat. That's only 1/10th of the issue. We've got equipment sitting in repair yards that has not even been touched. Readiness levels lower than we've had in decades. Our advance deployment depots are empty.

Don't piss on me and tell me it's raining.

We've got serious issues of force re-armament and strengthening we need to address.

the military is a place for the lazy, stupid and uneducated=cannon fodder.

The smart ones all have pretty shiny things on their uniforms. Everyone else gets fed to the artillery. So what else is new?

Where's Rachel Corrie when you need her?

EPIC FAIL.

James Taranto is such a conservative hack it goes beyond pathetic and goes deep into the territory of the seriously unwell. The worst part of this walking shiat stain's slurs, mis-information and bias? The fact that actually believes he's funny when in truth he's about as funny as Santa getting colo-rectal cancer.

Rupert "the unbearable" Murdoch is sure to give him a raise fer making fun of Rachel C.

Now the biased college drop out is slamming another article for bias?

Hypocriticise much?

His "good news from Iraq" cheerleader columns were egregious enuff but he's really getting worse daily since Foxy Murdoch bought the WSJ.

Shake those pom poms all night and day snowflake, only the seriously deluded are buying into yer schtick.

On some things he's pretty conservative, others pretty liberal. He's more a neocon hack than anything.

Mostly a Neo-Con hack? Agreed.

Quatchi would say he's more of a neo-lib than an actual lefty and Not Pretty at all!

His "cool site of the day" columns read like slow motion train wreck only you know ...DULL.

Lies! Washington Post is part of the Liberal Media Conspiracy! The man on the television told me so! They want our troops to fail in the Iraq so the Global Islamic Jihad can estabilish Communism in America!

They were much better a couple years ago; he's become quite the dullard recently. I think it might be because he's a smart guy and it pains him to have to defend the Bush admin or Republican principles as he sees them fail time and time again.

So the WSJ has taken to ridiculing other media for telling the truth? Sounds a lot like their sister organization - Fox News.

Yeah, sure. Assuming the subby doesn't actually read or know anything about the Washington Post whatsoever... then yeah. Sure.

Like your doctor with a shot of penicillin, let me clear it up for you:
Washington Times = notoriously right leaning
Washington Post = notoriously left leaning
mongbiohazard = reads them both

mongbiohazard: the subby

LOL...that's one of my favorite phrases. 'Subby' is a nickname for the Submitter; it's kind of a friendly 'Jimbo' version of James. When you call him 'the subby' it makes me smile :D

Gyrfalcon: the military Democratic Party is a place for the lazy, stupid and uneducated=cannon fodder people who play video games.

/fixed.

If you were trying to be trolling, you should have gone with 'Democrat Party'.

If you were serious...I think you've mixed up Farkers with Democrat Politicians.

Gyrfalcon hates the military; I hate Democrats, simple.

Yesterday's Washington Post featured a story titled "Army Off Target on Recruits," which perpetuated John Kerry's favorite stereotype, namely that the military is a place for the lazy, stupid and uneducated:

The bolded text in the very first sentence of this piece is a lie. Why can't right-wing pundits go one sentence without lying?

What a bunch of lying liars.

2008-01-24 11:52:42 PM
That looks like a pretty darned easy query. It'd be tough to see how political bias could affect one line of SQL.

Yeah, his favorite stereotype is that our military is a bunch of rapist murderers. His second-favorite stereotype is that they're lazy, stupid, and uneducated. Good call!

/He's endorsed Obama, so I should probably leave him alone
//But god...he still looks so French

This column is absolutely right. For too long, liberals have perpetuated the myth that the military is filled with poor people and people too dumb to get in to college. It's not our occupation of Iraq that's causing people to not want to join the military, it's the liberal media. That's also why recruitment standards have had to be lowered - the liberal media has brainwashed the most intelligent people in to avoiding the military, leaving the less educated ones who don't subject themselves to media bias. All the talk about a lack of body armor and other equipment doesn't help - it's the media that's depriving our troops of equipment. What we really need is to shut down these cowards, so the army returns to its former glory, and college returns to its status as the place where hippies who couldn't join up go.

FTFY. The Washington Times is one of the few papers that dares to stand out against the liberal MSM.

It hasn't yet been forced to drink the kool aid of "journalism." The problem with the mainstream media isn't so much that it is intentionally biased, as that it gets confused too easily. You have liberals screaming about how the sky is falling, throwing out all sorts of facts - who knows if they're true? - and they just drown out the calm voices of conservativism. The Washington Times, and thankfully now the Wall Street Journal, don't fall in to that trap, trying to verify all sorts of questionable claims when what our leaders are saying makes perfect sense.

This. I didn't get any further in the article either.
