I absolutely love and condone the headline format that excludes choices A and B!

Time to RTFA and see what a hyrax is!

I knew a guy that had a rock hyrax as a pet.

Sort of like a gregarious rabbit, or an easy-going squirrel.

That thing looks like Stitch from the Disney movie.

Little bastards are lucky they stayed clear of the fan and belts while she drove across town. I had a cat that lost a tail that way when I was little. One of my first memories is of my father trying to stop the cat from bleeding, while the cat was trying to start my dad bleeding.

/old ford truck with a cat on the warm engine + fan blades = horror show

Wouldn't you just take the hyraxes OUT?

How can we import them here as pets only to let them get loose and muscle out the squirrels and racoons as yet another suburban uber critter with no predators? I'll take 3 please...

2008-01-03 4:37:10 PM
was in capetown a few years back and there were some Hyrax hanging out at the Table Mountain restaurant area at the top. Pretty cool buggers, just walking around looking for scraps, pokin' out from the rocks..

Stupid idiot woman. Why didn't she call a service station before she tried to drive somewhere? It's lucky the little things only ended up with burns instead of getting torn to bits.

The Hyrax can be pretty damn vicious.

Tastes pretty good though.

From Wikipedia:
Cape Hyraxes produce large quantities of hyraceum (sticky mass of dung and urine) that has been employed by people in the treatment of several medical disorders, including epilepsy and convulsions.

Methinks the cure is worse than the disease.

I think someone should do a DNA splice with that cute thing with the big ears from yesterday. That would be a hell of a cool pet

Cape Hyraxes produce large quantities of hyraceum (sticky mass of dung and urine) that has been employed by people in the ineffective treatment of several medical disorders, including epilepsy and convulsions.

As in:

"Thus far, the hyraceum(piss/shiat) therapy has been ineffective. Try a smaller penis gourd."
