There must be a conspiracy. All these liberal educators and scientists,, it's almost like, smart people tend to hold liberal views. Shocking.

2007-12-11 11:57:22 PM
OMG TEH LIBS R IN THE SCHOOLZ!!!11!

2007-12-12 12:03:54 AM
As a 2006 Fond du Lac High School graduate, I was blessed to have many outstanding teachers.

20 years old + writing letter to editor = massive life fail

But I also encountered some teachers who were precisely the kind of liberal fanatics Rob Hynek warns us about,

"teachers who were liberal fanatics" = "teachers who gave my essay on how Hamlet is like a Transformers episode a D"

2007-12-12 12:10:59 AM
You liberal bastards voted for Hubert Humphrey and you killed Jesus!

2007-12-12 12:11:26 AM
The conservatives in America these days should really be allowed to opt out of the education system so that they can avoid constant persecution with no benefits.

2007-12-12 12:20:27 AM
Horrific. I think that any teacher that espouses liberal views should face the death penalty.

2007-12-12 12:35:28 AM
This sort of low-level drivel is why I've stopped arguing about the war. Four years later and no one on either extreme is ever going to be convinced they're wrong.

2007-12-12 1:14:31 AM
EVERYONE PANIC, LIBERALS ARE INTERACTING WITH YOUR CHILDREN!

FTFA: As a 2006 Fond du Lac High School graduate...

FALSE ALARM

Angry teenager alert.

2007-12-12 1:16:06 AM
Any real conservative knows that knowledge isn't taught in schools, it's given from god at birth.

2007-12-12 1:18:05 AM
Hahaha, that boy is apparently 18 or something. Wait till the real world gets a hold of him. People don't have you views that you don't like, tough shiat.

2007-12-12 1:22:20 AM
Dear God, no. Liberal teachers? They've infiltrated our educational system? We are DOOMED!

FTFA:

"To state the obvious, nobody "sends" their children into an all-volunteer military."

Nope. No one. Except the poor. And the minorities.

Shaggy_C: As a 2006 Fond du Lac High School graduate, I was blessed to have many outstanding teachers. But I also encountered some teachers who were precisely the kind of liberal fanatics Rob Hynek warns us about, hyper-partisans for whom the Left matters more than the students.

Don't be so upset guys, it's just a little kid. He doesn't know any better.

And a quick Google search brought up his blog^ and this darling picture. He's the one on the right.

Is that disgraced representative-turned-radio-host JD Hayworth - R (AZ) on the left????

2007-12-12 1:26:59 AM
Sweaty Jerry: It's awesome that he knows Ben Grimm.

Dude that's JD Hayworth of Abramoff fame. One of the most corrupt politicians on the hill in decades. He was getting something like $70k in kickbacks from Abramoff while working as the co-chairman of the Native American Caucus in Congress. Interesting choice of a person for your photo-op...

2007-12-12 1:27:50 AM
Well with any luck he'll continue on his way and turn out a repressed gay Republican.

What do you expect from a Fondle Sack HS graduate?

2007-12-12 1:31:55 AM
I don't mind "liberal teachers", if by "liberal" you mean they want more human rights, support gay marriage, like social programs, etc. It is when political spin enters the classroom ("To state the obvious, nobody "sends" their children into an all-volunteer military. ") with the intention of molding childrens' minds to your personal views on complex topics that I have a problem.

Personally, if I ever have kids, I hope I will be able to teach them sound logic and how to spot logical fallacy. Nearly all sides of any argument have intellectually respectable viewpoints, but differ in worldview and philosophy. But that isn't always the case, often times you have people who say things like:

Liberal: "George Bush lied about WMDs! Now he's torturing innocent people in GTMO! Halliburton and Blackwater are mercenaries!"

Conservative: "Lib'rals wanna take my money! Al Gore says he invented the innernet! They're supporting the terrorists!"

Both gross simplifications meant to rile an audience, not communicate what has happened or what to do about it.

2007-12-12 1:33:20 AM
Wait until he finds Fark. He'll be "but Clinton"-ing and bashing "libtards" with the rest of the Kool Aid drinkers we have here.

2007-12-12 1:37:25 AM
Libs? In my schools?

GETITOFF! GETITOFF! GETITOFF! GETITOFF! GETITOFF! GETITOFF! GETITOFF! GETITOFF! GETITOFF! GETITOFF! GETITOFF! GETITOFF! GETITOFF! GETITOFF! GETITOFF! GETITOFF! GETITOFF! GETITOFF! GETITOFF! GETITOFF! GETITOFF! GETITOFF! GETITOFF! GETITOFF!

SemperLieSuckah: Halliburton and Blackwater are mercenaries!"

While it's true that Halliburton isn't solely dedicated to combat operations, I fail to see how characterizing private armies like Blackwater as mercenary groups is an oversimplification. All value judgments aside, when you pay off a group of people outside your nation's standing army to fight in foreign conflicts, you're hiring mercenaries by definition. Sure it's simple, but that doesn't make it an oversimplification.

2007-12-12 1:42:06 AM
Of course teachers are liberal. If liberal means 'anything other than angry white Christian assholes who believe everything their feeble brains can't understand is the work of an invisible guy in the sky from a two thousand text that's been translated at least three farking times,' then yes, all teachers are liberal because they like to EXPLAIN things and KNOW things and READ things. The object of school in any form is knowledge and the application of said knowledge, period. The way this is phrased is incredibly misleading, and should be put this way to avoid further confusion:

"All teachers are people who want to find answers and invoke more questioning. Hence, they can't be Republicans because they don't give up when questions get too hard or when God isn't the final answer or have a religious agenda to push that involves people's creativity and thirst of knowledge being stunted."

There you go. That's more honest.

Now that's more honest.

"He then proves Mr. Hynek correct by rattling off ignorant, simpleminded inanities about the Iraq War - the president knowingly lied, no WMDs, blah blah blah."

His world is like a mirror opposite of reality. A Conservative Fundamentalist, you could say.

Some people I know spend the whole day listening to right wing talk radio to feel and maintain a peculiar high of self righteous anger. Certainly we've all felt that from time to time. Some people enjoy it more than others.

This guy is a junkie.

And we're not paying them to fight in foreign conflicts. We contract them to cook food, do laundry, etc. Halliburton does NOTHING war-related. Blackwater is just a bunch of bodyguards. They protect politicians and businessmen. They don't orchestrate offensives against the enemy. They protect their principal and their compounds. That is it. They are not hired into the role of soldiers. They don't patrol the streets, they only engage the insurgency defensively.
I don't know why that is so hard to grasp for some people, but I think its because this idea that they are "mercenaries" has been sold so heavily by leftist groups trying to paint them in a more demonic picture than they really are. And now that has seeped into the realm of "common knowledge" and it will be a hellacious time getting it back.

That is all I will say on the "mercenary" topic. I know a flamewar will erupt anyway, but I had enough people flaming about it last night.

if you look at his blog profile, you'll find some very interesting and head-scratching pronouncements, such as the fact that he likes Dirty Harry, playing the trumpet, Ann Coulter, Garfield, Toby Keith, and Andrew Lloyd Weber.

Talk about battling personalities.

I know many see this as funny, but people laughed about the funny little guy with the funny little moustache making hate-filled speeches too. It's just a slow creeping change from sane to insane until the totally insane becomes reality.

SemperLieSuckah: Liberal: "George Bush lied about WMDs! Now he's torturing innocent people in GTMO! Halliburton and Blackwater are mercenaries!"

Just so I can clarify your position, you're asserting that the Bush administration DIDN'T lie about WMD in Iraq, and that there are NO innocent people possibly being tortured in GITMO?

I remember a few years ago the reactionary conservatives (Limbaugh, Hannity, etc) were up in arms because some group of "liberals" was trying to get schools to teach more critical thinking skills instead of just random facts. They spun it to say "The dang Lib'rals are once again trying to undermine childrens' educations! Listen to this... "Schools are just trying to teach kids facts... we want to teach them how to think." The lib'rals wanna brainwash our kids! They admitted it!"

//hates reactionaries and radicals alike.

Okay, I realize this is a total Godwin, but...

Is it me, or does this kid look like a Hitler Youth member? Seriously.

2007-12-12 2:05:11 AM
Whatsleft: Sure. No I do not believe that Bush blatantly lied to invade Iraq. I think he honestly believed that Iraq might have had weapons of mass destruction... as did the congress and the senate. In retrospect, it was craptastic intelligence. That makes him a dupe, not a liar. I am sure there are those who will loudly disagree with me and call conspiracy, but that is my empirical reading of the situation.

As for innocent people in GTMO, no there have indeed been a few innocent people in GTMO. I've read their interviews and heard them speak on NPR. It was not our intent to snatch up innocent people, and they are a very tiny minority of the population. The two I am informed about specifically were not tortured, but they were unlawfully detained (they didn't do anything). Unfortunately, to some people, this is justification for ending all of our detentions because SOME people MAY be innocent. While I fully believe that we should not hold people unless we have evidence that they are involved in terrorism, the idea that we should just let them all free based on a statistical margin of error is insane.

So to clarify my position, people on the liberal side will exploit the exception to make it appear as if it were the rule in order to pants their opposition. It is intellectually dishonest.

There is no doubt that liberalism really does not belong in an educational environment, this is why we have a nation of American Idol-obsessed idiots: make-it-up-as-you-go touchy-feely nonsense.

Both Huckabee and Romney know this, and I assure you that when one (or even both) of them are in the Oval Office, there will be a concerted effort to clean up our schools and reprioritize them.

Yeah, and we'll learn them damn bumble bees that they can't fly too... And that they better start cranking out some honey, cuz thats what bees do. Oh, and evolution is false. Science is for morons unless it proves Jesus.

I agree. The world has India now to perform all the critical and free thinking for the world, so no need for lieberal teachers in American cities. Fire'em all!

/And by "fire'em", I don't mean terminate their employment.

All anger is fear-based.

Not an easy concept, but always true.

All of these angry people need to ask themselves what they are so afraid of.

Good lord. He's 4 foot tall and he's standing net to JD Hayworth. I wouldn't even make that up in a sitcom script.

2007-12-12 2:20:32 AM
Well, seeing as how "liberal" has come to be defined as "anyone who holds even a sigle opinion that differs from those of Limbaugh, Coulter, Hannity et al to even the slightest degree" in popular American parlance... Then yes, I imagine there would be a great number of them holding positions in the educational field... And just about every other field at that.

2007-12-12 2:25:31 AM
SemperLieSuckah: )Unfortunately, to some people, this is justification for ending all of our detentions because SOME people MAY be innocent.

We wither trust our legal system or we do not. There are no half measures. I saw a senate hearing today where some whiney broad was complaining that the detainees might get high-power legal help. Yeah, and? Look at the guys we have. Say what you want about Patrick Fitzgerald, the man does not lose. The DOJ has some damn awesome lawyers, and we've been VERY successful in prosecuting terrorists in our court system.

The problem here is they farked everything up by not going straight to court. Evidence is probably lost, witnesses out of the service and scattered to the wind. We'd probably lose most of the cases. That's our own damn fault for not trying them under our system, or even using the court martial system.

The whole theory that law enforcement is inadequate to the terrorist threat is just total BS. Ramzi Yousef, the blind sheik, the 20th hijacker... We prosecuted them, and they are in jail. The deepest darkest jails we have.

We can and should do better.

What a little internet tough guy he is! Isn't that just adorable! Come on everyone, he needs help from intelligent Farkers. We need to shame him in under our protective wing, in order to see that he finds his way through the confusing world of one of those indoctrinated, early 20-somethings, who haven't got a college education or a clue as to what's going on. It's a cry for help!
