"Yes, I'd like a large Senate Hearing, with half subcommittee referral and half cloture vote... um... extra bill hearings on raising government revenues..."

"I'm sorry, sir, we don't have bill hearings on raising government revenues. You'll have to call the House for that."

"OK, screw it. Just add jalapenos. I love those things."

To be fair, they said they'd call back every time, and then didn't.

If you aren't going to call back, don't say you will. Somebody's going to call you (har har) on it eventually.

If a legislator cannot sway a majority of the legislative body to his opinion in a reasonable amount of time he might not have a good case, or the rest of the legislators are idiots - maybe both. Time to move on to other business.

FTFA: People only have as much power as they have.

I hate people who write in tautologies.

Is that actually an out-of-touch Huffington Post liberal column, or an amazingly funny parody of same?

I mean, here's a web columnist who's not even as famous as I am, and he's whining about how Senators won't return his phone calls...

I tried getting a hold of Bush today but they kept giving me the run around. I think I'll post an entry in my blog about it. That'll show 'em. Jerks.
