I don't get this guy. Is it some kind of competition? Why can't you just consider yourself an "American", especially since you have been here for 14 years and have seemingly enjoyed the immense benefits given to you.

Corvus, yes, I did know that Indonesians aren't Arabs, nor are Iranians. I should have said Muslims instead of Arabs to make my point better, even though that makes it a bad analogy seeing as it would be comparing an ethnicity to a religion. Thank you for your correction!

Islam wasn't a religion until about 600 years after Jesus

I said Arabs not Muslims, you dingleberry. I was also exageratting when I said "before Jesus".

Arabs made the Abacus in 2400 B.C. and then 3000 years or so later made Islam! The point I was trying to make is people will laud the accomplishments of the Arabs for making scientific advancements many years ago. The point that I was trying to make is that those contributions have been overshadowed by the effect of Islam on the world, which has (in my humble opinion, I could be wrong) in the last half century had an undeniably negative effect on the entire world. I understand that is a gross oversimplification of many things, and feel free to correct me.

Corvus I totally agree that intolerance is the root of all violence in the world, but I feel that Islam has the ability to be manipulated by sleazy leaders more than other religions. I feel like if you could boil down Christianity and Islam into one phrase each their doctrines would look something like this

Christianity: Love your neighbor.
Islam: Obey God, or else.

When you have people telling uneducated, bored masses what obeying God actually entails, it leaves a lot of room for manipulation. Once again I understand this is an oversimplification, but I feel there is much truth to it. Discuss!

Corvus I think most Christians today base their faith on the morality of Jesus, hence, "love thy neighbor" is the way most Christians, at least the ones I know, live their lives.

What do you think about the rest of my post? I am genuinely curious, as you seem to be level-headed and know what you are talking about.
