Let him run, so conservatives can waste their money.

Someone will pull out the tapes of him talking dirty to his girlfriend. Then it will be all over.

How soon people forget.

I am going to send him a $20. Not because I particularly like him (there are parasitic worms that I have more respect for), but as more of a gift to the Daily Show & Colbert Report if he decides to run.

I'm gonna guess it will cost...nothing. Give him nothing he won't run...

I gave him that yesterday.

I will run for a fraction of that amount. I will save voters money. Just give me a cool $3 million and I will throw my hat into the race.

He might not need the full 30 million if he wasn't paying so much in alimony.

- Just gimme ten dollars and I won't say nothin'.
- Get out.
- Two-fifty and a jawbreaker?
- Get out!
- A dollar and some envelopes?

Less than $30 million?

I wonder how much it would cost subby to learn how to correctly type a sentence?

Like Obama!

I hope he gets $29,999,999, doesn't run, and pockets it all.

Later, suckas!

FlashLV: Like Obama!

Uh, no.

Obama would be a refreshing candidate.

Gingrich is old busted evil.

Yes, EVIL.

Or maybe just stupid.

Is there a difference?

Actually when Obama grabs the VP slot under Clinton, Obama will turn over his warchest to the Hillary campaign. To all the people that gave the Obama because he was the anti-Hillary.... SUCKERS.

There will not be an Obama/Clinton ticket. They are too different.

Give me 30 million and I'll run too. Run laughing all the way to the bank.

That's the ONLY thing I can see happening in the end.

Quick thing on this, didn't Kerry do the same thing with Edwards in '04? The pretended to not totally get along and in the end they were the P and VP choice.

Seems like the same kind of thing right now.

Like Kerry and Edwards were?

I'll just vote Kucinich if that happens.

Let everyone else vote for Hillary.

No. It's more of a Mondale/Ferraro thing. Jesus, does even basic anatomy escape your small intellect?

Not really fearmongering, more trolling. But I think there is a high probablility that that might happen. It all depends upon Edwards. H or O will get the nom, if Edwards is popular he will get VP, if he is not, the other will get the VP slot.

My best guess.

I simply cannot see Obama or Clinton taking each other. One will be the nominee. The other will return to the Senate to (very quietly) root the other on.

The winner will likely take Richardson to veep. Obama has a few options, but Richardson is most inviting. As for Hillary:

*Gravel, Kucinich- hahahahano.
*Biden, Dodd- geographically unsuitable. You know, that whole stupid ticket-balancing thing everyone likes to do.
*Edwards- had his chance, free-falling, fark him.
*Obama- nobody ever takes their principal opponent; Hillary will be no different.
*Off the board- if there was going to be someone, Hillary probably would have started a buzz machine for them by now. Unless she wants to get the band back together with Gore, this won't happen.

That leaves Richardson.

Saiga410: My best guess.

I'm still holding out that Obama will be the forerunner, and that America's had enough of the Clinton Dynasty.

But hey, he (not she) is still revered for some reason as a great President...

So people can be stupid, too.

2007-09-20 2:55:12 PM
My guess is Hillary will take Richardson or maybe Wesley Clark - he's been strangely quiet lately and he's a HUGE Clinton booster. Also from Arkansas.

I REALLY want Obama to get the nomination (and win) but I don't see it happening, sadly. Pleasepleaseplease prove me wrong America.

Me too. But the power brokers within the respective parties have more of a say as to who gets the nod than is public knowledge. Everyone's betting on Clinton, even though many polls show Obama (and in some cases, Edwards) leading; that doesn't just happen by mistake.

2007-09-20 2:57:34 PM
Clinton wasn't a GREAT President, whidbey. I don't think I hear much of that.

What I hear, and where I stand, is that he was GOOD ENOUGH. Economy was decent, Yugoslavia worked out pretty well in the end (heck, look at Croatia these days). Somalia was ill-advised, though. He wasn't even close to perfect, but he did a passable job.

destitute college kid: I REALLY want Obama to get the nomination (and win) but I don't see it happening, sadly.

He's doing pretty good so far. As long as he doesn't screw it up by caving into convention "wisdom."

Gosling: I simply cannot see Obama or Clinton taking each other. One will be the nominee.

It makes perfect sense too do that, though.

After the primaries, assuming they are ranked 1 and 2 among voters for Dem. nod, they pool their support base by joining. Sure, some die-hard supportors will fall off, but most will stay.

Then, after the term(s) of the one who is president finishes, the other has the advantage of running from the vp position.

I lost confidence in him. I voted Nader in '06.

He's a corporate whore who didn't really believe in anything, except that drugs were bad, m'kay....

You couldn't afford it.

You see, he don't run, he don't campaign. He don't campaign, that runs into money.

2007-09-20 3:07:47 PM
Come now my fellow farkers, the ticket has been selected already all we're seeing now is foreplay.

Expect the flood of Hillary/Obama in '08 bumber stickers to arrive soon.

Then, in an overwhelming landslide victory, they will win.

Damn shame I tell ya, a damn shame. I gringe at the thought of any (D) or (R) in the White House, but alas, I am for America and not some silly party.

Somebody pony up the money for this bilge rat. He'd get slaughtered, and if he ran as an independent he'd split the republican vote.

I hope he runs. Compared to the skum passing themselves off as conservatives these days, he's ok. I don't agree with any of his positions, but at least he seems smart and honest. I'd rather vote against somebody I don't agree with (Gingrich), then somebody I hate (Guiliani).

I wouldn't count on it. Most Repubbies would ignore him.

I hope Newt cheats on his wife like he did the last two. It'll make the campaign interesting viewing.

And maybe Newtie will bring back his "Christian adultery" argument. As long as you give AIDS to a Christian, it's not a sin.

I hope Newt runs so that the primary isn't decided until much later. It'll be much more exciting if each state goes to a different candidate.

$30 million to run, but only $8 million to have jebus "call him home".
I say we go for the bargain deal.

66 cents. Bullets are pretty cheap.

No, if anything they're too much the same. Both of them are extremely strong in the far left, women, and blacks. Obama as VP will bring absolutely nothing for Clinton. More than likely Clinton will bring in Edwards or somebody more 'southern' to bring in those states.

2007-09-20 8:44:46 PM
To those of you saying there will be a Clinton/Obama ticket: it is not going to happen. It won't happen for the simple reason that Obama doesn't want to be associated with all that the Clintons represent to Americans. It's beyond political baggage, it's political freightage (if such a word existed). If he doesn't win the nomination he'll go back to the Senate and try again in a term or two.

As to Gingrich, I have no idea what he thinks he can offer the American people. He was elected with a mandate, and he completely failed to deliver. He was shown to be a hypocrite. Liberals don't like him because of what he says and conservatives don't like him because what he says and does aren't the same thing. Honestly, wtf is the point of running now?

subby

I would guess, any amount of $29,999,999.99 or less would prevent him from running.
