(Fox News)   Stupid: Movie reviewer admits he didn't tell readers how boring Leo DiCaprio's movie was because he wanted people to learn about global warming. Fark: We're talking about the Fox News movie reviewer here   (foxnews.com) divider line

So the movie flopped. Who really and truly gives a shiat?

At least Leo put his money where his mouth is. As opposed to this worthless mouthy shiathead:

So, DiCaprio's movie is about the Sun burning hotter, thus causing temperatures to be higher on the planets that orbit it?

2007-09-06 3:10:46 PM
Okay, well I saw the movie, and the term "boring" is the last word I'd use to describe it. I'd def recommend that ALL FARKERS check it out!!!

//On second thought, I guess if you're really, really stupid, so much so that you can't understand the concepts addressed in the movie, it would seem boring.

Yeah, like this bomb is going to affect his career in the least.

and the article even references the "kilimanjaro is melting" myth... jeese. While although probably true, its not a global warming issue. its an issue of local deforesting/over use of the mountain/general climate change (pre-dating the human added carbon.)

i'm not a global warming disbeliever, but the kili example is just so flawed and disproven as a symptom. The trick is, if you want to see the glacier up there, climb it sooner rather than later

I know I get bored when I'm told the same thing repeatedly.

It's a documentary. Of course it bombed.

OR!

Could it be that we're all seriously burnt out (hehe) on the global warming alarmism? Seriously, if you want to convince people to stop being environmental assholes, set an example by DOING good instead of wasting time, energy, & money screaming at those you deem heretics to your cause. If you smugly declare them idiots for every smidge of carbon output they're responsible for, they probably won't want to hang out with you and go plant trees.

Hm... another religion/global warming parallel....

Hey, what if you're not stupid and have merely formed your own opinions on global warming that don't need validation from a movie star with zero scientific training?

Maybe some people are just really, really pathetic and need Leo DiCaprio to tell them what to be outraged over. The same guy who takes a private jet to movie premiers but expects you to walk to work.

And considering how much he's giving to Hillary Clinton, I'm guessing there's going to be a lot of pro-democratic party stuff coming down the turnpike in the next five years.

Where's Jon Snow to tell us how wrong we are, and that anybody who has a scintilla of intelligence realizes that LDC's movie is a stunning success. It's undeniable, dumbass. Do I need to show you my graphs, noob?

At this point - trying to prevent Global Warming would be like trying to save this ship by turning it around.

Global warming really shouldn't be a "controversial issue". The greenhouse effect is causing the earth's temperature to rise, which affects the global climate. This is a proven scientific fact. Stupid, inaccurate, "omg teh world iz gonna esplode in teh next dekade if we dun do sombfink now!1!" movies, while annoying, do not alter the reality that global warming is occurring, and it is altering the earth's climate. Repeatedly biatching about the previously mentioned type of movie does not alter that reality either. Attempting to manufacture a false debate on "how much of it is really our fault" does not alter that reality. Limiting pollution and waste that contributes to the greenhouse effect is beneficial to the world as a whole. There is no downside. Doing nothing, or trying to play the "it's not my fault!1! it just happened on it's own!1!" card helps no one but the oil companies whose continued obscene profits depend on manufacturing a false controversy around the issue that prolongs ignorance, indifference, and inaction.

I know I've said this on Fark before, but I'm just hoping I'm not the only one. I can't stand Leonardo DiCaprio and I'm not sure why. I just know that if I know that if he's in a movie, I feel compelled to avoid it at all costs.

I think the only flick of his I've actually sat through was "The Man in Iron Mask", and that's because my ex has a John Malkovich fetish and made me watch it with her.
