I'll bet there's very few of you farkers out there that had any idea that there WERE 15 books, much less read them all.

I have, and they rock.

I think Disney tried something like this, with disastrous financial results. Thanks a lot, MGM.

15 Oz Books or 15oz books or 15 ounce books. There are 16 ounces in a pound, hence the 'more than a pound are out of luck'.

I knew of like 3.

15? Is there really that much to cover?

Disney made an unofficial sequel called "Return to Oz." There is some speculation that it was setup to fail by Michael Eisner in order for him to appear better than his predecessors.

they did that back in the 80's (well I dunno if it was all the books). It was OK as a kid to watch, now, dunno, uber-lame. Hopefully the Oz movies will be of the same quality as chronicles of narnia

Errr... there were 14.

Oohhh... They took the rights to one of the crappy non-canon spinoffs, too.

Hahhaha oh ok I get it now. I'm used to the metric system and seeing everything in mL and L.

/GungFu you made me laugh too

15 movies, huh? That's awfully optimistic. Like people who apply the term "first annual" to anything.

2007-08-23 8:12:24 PM
Actually there were forty. Baum had a few other 'royal historians' take over for him. If this comes to pass, one can hope these are put back into print. They're pretty fun and cornball reads if you have an hour to spend.

As for the 15 ounces...

Not to nit pick but what about books that weight between 15 and 16 Oz?

2007-08-23 9:20:45 PM
I've actually read a bunch of the Oz books because my daughters liked the Oz books when they were small. Some are pretty good. Some not so much.

/preferred the Little House books

2007-08-23 9:23:05 PM
I only read a couple of them, but the whole sex change thing by our hero in the second book really threw me as a kid.

srhp29: Not to nit pick but what about books that weight between 15 and 16 Oz?

I wish we has metric oz because they only go up to about 10 and then turn into something else. Then I wouldn't confuse.

2007-08-23 11:02:39 PM
Meh, I didn't get it. But I grew up under the metric system. I'll leave you Americans to worry about how many hogsheads are in a furlong.

WOW that translates into approx. 30 hours of suck!

Everybody knows Hollywood will fark up a wet dream if given a chance.

2007-08-24 3:01:07 AM
I read them when I was a kid. They were great stuff in second grade. I'm sure they wouldn't hold up to a second read 20 years later.

2007-08-24 11:09:33 AM
Bring on Tik-Tok! He was my favorite character when I was a kid. Too bad the movies will be a pile of suck.

He's also a TFer. Even more special.
