"The US must allow the Iraqis to fight a civil war...The US should build, with the help of other nations as well, a coalition base outside of the most dangerous areas in the region. That base should be on the Pakistani border, because the Pakistanis are a shiatty ally, are full of bull and need to be watched every moment and their country is a haven for Al Qaeda."

what a geopolitical genius and a natural diplomat

albo: base outside of the most dangerous areas in the region

Most dangerous areas in the region ... hmmmmm ... let's see ... Iran, Syria, Saudia Arabia ... hmmmm ... now where could we find a convenient spot to build a base outside of these areas? Hmmmm ....

/Christ! I actually agree with something Alec Baldwin wrote ... F*CK!

How's that 'progressive' Alec Baldwin radio show doing?

God knows that we shouldn't have been in there in the first place but "just let them fight their civil war (that we created)"...if I were going for office, I don't think I'd run on that.

He's also said that he could go into law school immediately if he wanted to, if he got a real estate license he'd sell millions of dollars worth of real estate, no problem. It's difficult to take anything he says (especially about himself) all that seriously eh!

Thank you for once not making your point by posting a photo that I'd be still trying to get out of my brain two weeks later.

Heh. I've been hearing some Republican folks threatning to move if Hillary is elected.

That's a little too much, but I don't blame them. Where could they move to? Saudi Arabia?

Who care just as long as they leave and stay out.
Maybe they could set up Jesus-Land in the remote outback?

I'd like to see the quote where Alec Baldwin said he'd leave if Bush was elected. Whenever this comes up over in Freeperburg, I keep asking for a link to his comments. They can only muster up something his wife said. (then I got banned for pointing that out)

It depends on what the meaning of 'leave' is...

Baldwin was recorded saying, "I think my exact comment was that if Bush won it would be a good time to leave the United States. I'm not necessarily going to leave the United States."

Female reporter off-camera: "You're not really going anywhere."

Baldwin: "I might go on a long vacation."

Of course, we can all be assured that Alec Baldwin gives careful thought to his words because he is the guy who called on Americans to stone Henry Hyde and his family to death during the Clinton impeachment.

He should be on "The View" they have a job opening for an ignorant liberal celebrity.

Who is the current leader of the "progressives"? I'm not sure who replaced Cindy Sheehan after they tossed her aside.

Before you judge too harshly just remember that without Alec Baldwin we'd still be fighting the cold war. You think capturing the Red October wasn't a massive factor in the fall of the Soviet Union? Pfft, i scoff at you!

Maybe next time he should send a goddamn memo.

mild7: Who is the current leader of the "progressives"? I'm not sure who replaced Cindy Sheehan after they tossed her aside.

Whoever that might be, do you think they'd poll as poorly as the current leader of the "conservatives"?

Ya know, that George W. Boosh fellar?

My thoughts exactly... but SOMEONE thought we wanted to know.

2007-07-28 8:28:09 PM
Lalalala: And I care about what people think about Baldwin . . . Why?

Because he represents the exact sentiments of every American who disagrees with the policies of the Bush Administration.

Right, "conservatives?"

2007-07-28 9:27:11 PM
... and I care what Alec Baldwin thinks about ANYthing, um... why?

Because he's been a consistantly successful professional actor for many years, shifting from character actor, leading man and a weekly comic role? Because he's made more money than you or I will probably make? Because as a journalism major I am as close as you'll get to a reporter asking you questions ever?

And yet, here you are, commenting on that about which you do not care. I'm convinced.

The would that make his daughter "first ungrateful pig"?

"If he did it as fast as he kept his promise to leave the country, we would of course never leave"

Did anyone really expected him to do it? And if you did, wait till you here about the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus...!

You_mean_Im_gonna_stay_this_color: Hes a good actor

"You can't out-act ME boy! Don't even try!"

On a different note: I'm not a fan of Alex Baldwin, but for the record, he DID apologize for his "if Bush is elected, I'll leave the country" comment. That's one more apology than Bush has ever given for any of the stupid things he's said. (Also, note proper spelling of "he's". I'm so sick and tired of people who clearly have actual keyboards omitting apostrophes like they're typing on a cell phone that I could scream.)

I think we should get out of Iraq. I don't think we should establish a "base" anywhere near the Pakistani border. Unless that base is an aircraft carrier that hangs around the Indian ocean and keeps our allies safe... as long as they act like allies. Otherwise, they can take care of their damn selves.

Funny how Republicans actually wet themselves whenever anyone from Hollywood so much as winks at them. In most cases, it can easily be explained as repressed homosexuality. But sometimes it's just mysterious.

"Alec Baldwin secretes own hair gel"
/obscure?

I disagreed with this war on the way in.... but Now that the United States has broken that country I think that they have a moral obligation to help fix it. I do well recognize that politics do not generally rely on moral obligations, but geez...

Libs-- supporting a pullout does not equal not supporting an unjustified war of agression... Leaving and letting "nature take it's course" is someting of a darwinian approach but a generally unpleasant idea.

Conservitaves-- really... Guys, come on, I'll admit that this whole idea had some merits. (like invading checzoslovakia) But I think that deep down, engaging a hostile (but entirely incapable) in severe sanctions and no fly zones (with US bombing [if I remember right]) is kinda cruel. And then declaring war against a totally outclassed military (like beating up the kid with CP, he might [kinda] deserve to get his ass kicked but, it's not really a fair fight). Really... guys, you can't possibly think that his was a good idea anymore.

Your unhelpful partisan bickering is preventing any real progress in this horrible quagmire (giggity).
If you agree with something you see / hear or read there is a really good chance it's propaganda...
