She will get over it.

ConEd...coned...cpwn3d?

I should start suing hot women who spurn my advances for emotional distress.

Can I sue the City of New York for it's self-important media domination?

It annoys me.

Pre 9/11, I saw a manhole cover blow up. You could feel the shock wave, and the sound was deafening as this hundred pound piece of steel went 8 feet into the air like a tossed coin.

There was a lady that was about to cross the street that was maybe 10 feet away. She collapsed into a heap and was only semi-concious, as well as an inconsolable quivering mess.

A bunch of us ran over, and called an ambulance (after going through her pockets of course, come on it is NYC after all).

I'm against frivolous law suits, but I think it does qualify as a traumatic experience.

She should be awarded a minimum of a bottle of Valium, and some pizza. Maybe even the whole pie.

maybe they'll settle. She gets $1000, ConEd gets to shoot her in the face, and we're all less one sue-happy asshole.
It's a win-win situation.

2007-07-23 3:37:36 PM
I can't decide who to blame really. The woman for bringing such a stupid lawsuit, or the lawyer(s) who probably put the idea into her head and let her run with it.

Don't like news about New York?

Don't read it.

Her suing ConEd for being scared from a boom would is just about on the same level as fat people suing a spoon company for them being fat

2007-07-23 3:44:33 PM
Howabout you let the people that were actually hurt sue first. Then deal with the sissies.

2007-07-23 3:44:38 PM
The only person who would be justified in suing is that poor bastard that was in the tow truck, and maybe his passenger.

2007-07-23 3:45:10 PM
On 9/11 I had a view of a parking lot and when this shiat went down I heard about it at the bar thank you very much.

/pray for mojo

Why can't we all get money when something happens to us that recalls a tramatic event? Answer, STFU!

Reset_Fund_Code: Her suing ConEd for being scared from a boom would is just about on the same level as fat people suing a spoon company for them being fat

Wrong.

ConEd isn't shoving food down your throat.

This lady will probably get a settlement. Given her sister died on 9/11 and that another person died of a heart attack in the ensuing panic after the pipeline explosion, there is a case for the PTSD her lawyer claims.

2007-07-23 3:50:28 PM
I wonder if she is scared of hot man-pole explosions too...?

Christ...

Brooklyn woman, huh... Well, that makes me think that Captian Krunk is on to something here...

/I'm just sayin'...

2007-07-23 3:50:30 PM
All these relatives of 9/11 victims need to STFU already. It is not about you. I'm sorry for your loss, but people die every day, and we all have personal tragedies. It does not mean that the rest of the world owes you anything. Life does go on for the living, and we all end up the same in the end.

2007-07-23 3:50:31 PM
I just got scared by my phone ringing. Can I now sue the caller, the phone manufacturer and the phone company?

2007-07-23 3:50:34 PM
That's right, burden down the judicial system even more so people who really need the help can't get it, you disgusting piece of shiat.

We live in a scarier world now. Obviously this woman knows that. But is she going to sue companies that make fireworks? Her neighbor for his car backfiring? Maybe she'll sue God for thunder and set a legal precedent of frivolous lawsuitalarity.

/sometimes things that upset you aren't anyone's fault
//they're called accidents
///still wonders why the steam pipes didn't have proper pressure relief systems if this was a case of fluid hammer

Flying Lasagna Monster: She was right.

Damn right. Funny how she got bashed for saying this...only to be proven right once more.
I hope this 9/11 "victim" meets Karma someday.

2007-07-23 3:50:54 PM
I'm suing this woman for causing me frustration after hearing about such a stupid lawsuit. Stress kills, you know? I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED!!

Caps make it true.

I should start suing hot women who spurn my advances for emotional distress.

Please make this class-action.

She just sounds like a biatch when you say it like that.

I'm sure people living in Baghdad feel real sorry for you.

I would like to say that my commute home and to work the next day was fantastic because of the chaos going on over there, so would be happy to kick con-ed a few bucks if they would do this more often.

2007-07-23 3:53:06 PM
Although the explosion was pretty friggin' frightening and it looked like all hell was breaking loose, she should really let the injured people sue first. However, ConEd really doesn't seem to give a flying fark about anyone (just ask the businesses who lost millions during the Queens blackout last year), so I doubt anyone is going to get any substantial amount from the company.

/It poured today in NYC.
//I wonder which street is going to explode as a result of it.

2007-07-23 3:53:17 PM
On September 11, 2001, she had a view of the new NYC skyline as she moved here from Boston. Thanks for asking.

It is the chain of logic such as this that is causing this country to slowly implode. Things go bang all the time in NYC. This woman needs to STFU and DIASE.

just like their relative?

Less02

I got what you're saying but proving PTSD espeically in a relative can be tricky. My sympathy goes out to her for the loss of her sister and she will probably get a settlement based on the fact that she threw out the 9/11 card.

/she'll get over it?
//aisle seat near the bathroom

2007-07-23 3:56:06 PM
i didn't know that being frightened was now actionable.

there's a couple of women in suvs with telephones that scared the shiat out of me. if i find 'em, i'm suin'.

/not the one that actually hit me, she's already paid.
//ruined a nice old miata, though.

2007-07-23 3:56:20 PM
Lots of things scare me. Can I sue them all? Please? It'd be so much easier than taking out a loan for the house I want to buy...

2007-07-23 3:56:29 PM
But I was in the airport on 9/11!!!
/what about me???

2007-07-23 3:58:06 PM
Ex-Republican

You'd be surprised that some people over there actually do express sorrow for a US loss and it's not just the US boots on the ground.
