I liked the story that was posted a week are two ago where the guy was pulled over for driving a big wheel intoxicated.

Newsflash: when you're drunk you do stupid stuff.
2002-09-05 09:15:55 PM
So nice he did it twice....

Being drunk on a bicycle should not count as DUI. Perhaps you should even earn extra credit for a blatant attempt to get a Darwin award.

Ha ha!
2002-09-05 09:21:26 PM
Maybe fark should have an item where we all write stupid shiat about what we did when we were drunk and this ass clown can just link to his article and say "See". Or not.
2002-09-05 09:24:23 PM
And then those of us who've never been drunk, and therefore never done stupid shiat while in that particular state, can lord it over you with a combined cry of "Dumbass!" as we fall to the floor laughing.
2002-09-05 09:28:42 PM
At least he did steal the cab and drive away...
2002-09-05 09:29:07 PM

Here and there, EQAddict.
2002-09-05 09:37:06 PM
I've been drunk before. I've just never done anything stupid in that state.

I reserve that for sobriety!

Somehow I think nothing good would come of that.

After he was taken to the West Shore Booking Center, police said Vaughn was released and put in a cab. But when the cab driver would not take him to his car, police said Vaughn stole a bicycle from the front yard of a house and rode away.

Why do they release them while still drunk? Was it just a couple of months ago we read the story of the guy who drove his drunk buddy back to his car, and drunk friend kills another, and himself while driving home?

I thought they referred to it as 'the drunk tank' for a reason.

Plus, he would have been arrested anyway, for stealing the bike.

A bicycle is considered a vehicle. He's a dumbass, and should never be allowed to have a drivers license again.

A bicycle is not "driving". Now a motorcycle I can see, but a bicycle??! Do you get a DUI for driving a go-kart around your field while drunk? Or a DUI for ice-skating while drunk? How about roller-skates or a skateboard?

Surfing while under the influence?

Being drunk doesn't make you do stupid things. Being stupid and drunk makes you do stupid things. Even when you're drunk, you should know that you can't fly, you can't juggle chainsaws, and you can't drive.

LOL Lunatic Tassle! Yeah, how about a computer chair too?

I um, deny that story on the basis that if I cannot recall it, it did not happen.

Actually, Pepperjack just told that to win a contest;)

or something.

Apparently NOBODY.....including the poster
bothered to read the story.
He rode the bike back to his car and THEN
he got his second dui/dwi

Thank you HellRaiseretc. for clearing that up. You are now officially the partypooper

The cops have liability here. They should never have released a drunk in the first place. If this guy had run over and killed a few yard rats, there'd be hell to pay and a bigass lawsuit.

b>Young_Fart Reminds me of a story that happened to a friend of mine a few years ago. He was coming from a club and stopped at a roadblock. He had consumed 2 beers in 3 hours.

The police questioned him, made him do a field sobriety test, the whole nine yards. They then (and I am not kidding, as I was in the car with him) instructed him to follow them to the police station and sit in the parking lot for 2 hours or get a ticket.

The whole time I was trying to tell him 'look, they know you aren't drunk, or they would not let you drive behind them'

Still, we sat. For 2 hours.

boy was that fun.

What happened to my post? have I been banned?
2002-09-05 10:57:44 PM
I guess not...anyway back to Farking
Young_Fart the coppers completed their job, and sent the loser away in a taxi. What he did after that is another case. It's not their job to baby sit a bunch of drunk adults(exceptions noted).

I love seeing local stuff every once in a while...even if it makes us people from Harrisburg look bad. :)

"CAMP HILL, Pa. -- A Harrisburg man has been arrested twice on the same day for drunken driving, both in a car and on a stolen bicycle.
Either I'm an idiot, or you're an bag o crap.

Electrosnizzle... Your lack of grammar skills proves my point. No wonder this thread died.

Sweater Girl, I think sometimes the cops just enjoy doing things like that because they can. Power/ego trip. Still, it's better than going to court.

Oh, and Talat32, the first priority of the police is to serve and protect. The drunk guy was endangering the public. Protecting the public means not putting him back on the street until he's sober. Heck, even Andy Taylor knows that.

I used to work near Camp Hill. Bunch of oddballs around here (course, there are a bunch of oddballs everywhere). BTW, I throw WGAL links out all the time. There are usually at least 3 really weird ones every day, and they never get accepted. One was about a man with 11 kids getting a vasectomy to stay out of jail, and it never got posted. Now that's comedy. *sigh* I'm distressed now.. will the submitter please stand up so I can applaud you / murder you in your sleep.

I dunno about the bicycle, but I guess you can get a DUI for being plastered while mowing your lawn with the rider. Heard that from a local cop. It counts as a motorized vehicle. Then again, it is a local cop. But a bike? What if he hopped on a Fisher-Price tri-cycle? Or travelled the river by inner-tube? Would hydro-bikes count as well?

Is there anything more beautiful than a beautiful, beautiful flamingo, flying across in front of a beautiful sunset? And he's carrying a beautiful rose in his beak, and also he's carrying a very beautiful painting with his feet. And also, you're drunk.

I'm drunk right now.

At least in Ohio it is OMVI, Operation of a MOTOR Vehicle under the Influence. But you can still get one for riding a bike. Friggin' stupid. You can also get one for sleeping in the car and listening to the radio. Almost as dumb.

My grandfather told me a story once about coming home from a wedding, probably in the '40s. He passed out with a car fulla buddies and put the car up against the curb of the local town sqare, circling incessantly. A cop frantically jogged beside tapping on the window until he woke him up. He bought 'em all coffee and sent them on their way with a smile.
