"I don't know" is an option? I hate those people.

Um, 60% of R-etards still think he's doing good. Wow.

Let the power of christ compel you.

The historical all-time lows for presidents is interesting. W's getting close to the all-time record. GO FOR THE GOLD!

/although if it'd been around for Hoover's days, single digits would've been reached

The Mail Demon: "I don't know" is an option? I hate those people.

Guess what their answer would be if you take away that choice.

We'd be discussing the 32 percenters right now.

Approaching Nixon territory. You can do it!

I hear the RNC has chosen "Don't Stop Believin'" as their theme song for 2008...

The Democrats will still find some way to shoot themselves in the foot prior to the election.

He's gone from being like U.S. Grant the bungler to Richard Nixon the criminal. I think history will be unkind.

What this country needs is less partisanship (looking at you, DIA) and leaders who will uphold the Constitution. The whole Constitution, not just the parts they or their party leaders agree with. Unfortunately it's too late for that and we're all doomed.

How do you figure?

2007-07-06 3:19:23 PM
Um, you guys know that Bush can't run for a third term right? Why are all the Dems running against someone who cannot serve a 3rd term?

2007-07-06 3:19:29 PM
Someone explain to me why Congress has no power over this guy? Why does the republican side still blindly support everything the general public clearly is against.

I thought the November Revolution would shake things up. Is Washington that closed off from the rest of the nation?

If you think that disapproving of Congress makes one a Bush supporter, maybe you need to reconsider exactly who the dumbass is.

I want a set of politicians who care more about making a difference than they do reelection.

Nabb1: If you think that disapproving of Congress makes one a Bush supporter, maybe you need to reconsider exactly who the dumbass is.

I agree, but in a thread like this it looks a whole lot like "b-b-but Congress!"

2007-07-06 3:22:27 PM
Hmmmm, that whole posting history thingy confounds the "what, who... me?" act once again.

And still polling ahead of Congress...Ain't that a kick in the head?

Well, that's usually the case, though there is one big difference you're leaving out...

While their approval ratings are just as abysmal as Bush's, Congress' approval rating has actually gone up since 2006, while Bush's continues to nose dive.

Congressional vs Presidential approval ratings

Having to get in a shot against the Democrat-controlled Congress makes you look like a defensive right-wing partisan.

Nabb1: If you think that disapproving of Congress makes one a Bush supporter, maybe you need to reconsider exactly who the dumbass is.

No! Hating them both is too complex for our two-party brains!

2007-07-06 3:23:15 PM
TheCharmerUnderMe: Is Washington that closed off from the rest of the nation?

Uh, I'm gonna have to go with "yeah". But, it's always been this way, and to expect things to change is idiocy. We're long past the point where any good will ever be done by this government. Anymore it seems like all government is good for is making retarded laws such as banning trans-fat, as well as other "helicopter parent" laws.

aquigley: Found two?

I don't think you've found any quite yet. You'll know them when they show up. And trust me, they will show up. If you believe DIA and Nabb are part of the 26%-ers, just you wait.

Gotta love a guy who spends so much time defending the Bush adminstration and all their actions -- the horrible war in Iraq, their mismanagement of Katrina, the cronysim, the abuses of power, the secret prisons, the outsourcing of torture, warrantless wiretapping, failure to capture Osama -- but who whistles and kicks the dirt and plays coy when actually called out on his support.

2007-07-06 3:25:50 PM
Suck it, Truman!

Needs to be repeated frequently. That's just crazy. Folks, you can be a Republican and not like Bush. It's OK, it's OK, it's OK. The thought police won't come and arrest you.

/yes they will

Bush should be impeached and sent to the Hague with Cheney and Rumsfeld.

It's the bargaining phase of the Kübler-Ross grief cycle.

I'd shorten that list by 3. Some folks are proud of our current leadership.

my only gripe is that bush is too moderate. he would get more support if he was more conservative.

26% of the country would like you to have a Happy Birthday.

The other 74% of us, not so much.

26%

In related news, 26 is the average IQ of people that voted for Bush.

Sounds a little high, though.

He's not moderate, conservative or liberal. He's some kind of new thing that doesn't have a proper name yet.
